Don’t get an Audi. Great at first but they go down hill fast and expect a $3,000 repair bill for every fix
I was looking at a q7 and a q5 a few years back and asked a buddy that had an A4 how he liked it. He told me that he loved until the first time it went to the shop. He told me that everything was 2-4k to fix from simple to hard. He got rid of it and said he wouldn't go back.

Used to drive an Audi Q5. Just traded it in and got a Genesis GV70 a few months ago. I looked at the comparable Mercedes and BMW while shopping and settled on the GV70. Absolutely love the vehicle. Extremely refined and luxurious.

Wife is still driving her 2008 Lexus RX. It’s been a terrific car. We’ve done almost nothing for it. Low mileage but a New Orleans city driver so it’s handled the roads and bullshite in this city with grace and style.
Will likely get a new RX when this one finally goes kaput.

Would love to get more input on this from people who have experience with them, im looking at an XC90 myself.. all i know from being a kid growing up in the 80s is that Volvos are “boxy, but theyre safe.”
There is a lot of new technology in the current Volvos, So it's hard to tell how reliable they will prove to be. We've bought three, going back to a 1999 V70 (excellent car). They all share very comfortable seats and a great ride for long trips. Volvos are no longer boxy and they have Americanized their products these days (they wouldn't put cup holders in the rear until 1999, said they didn't want to encourage eating and drinking).
From a safety standpoint, they were the leaders in this, by a longshot, but most makers build pretty safe cars these days.
Volvo went from being Swedish owned, to owned by Ford, to owned by Geely, a Chinese company.

Wife has a 2020 Acura RDX with aspec package. Only has 20k miles on it. She wants something a little bigger and went and drove the MDX and the new Lexus TX. She thought she wanted the Lexus but she said the interior was just so so. Probably be going with the MDX s package

The question is does the OP want a crossover like the XT5 or not. If his wife prefers the ride of a crossover then the RX is probably a better choice.

If anyone saw the movie Gone Girl, the husband drove an XC90, and he was married to a psychopath

I’ve owned Lexus for the past 20 years.
Zero breakdowns.
Would not have been possible with a Vulva over the past 20 years.
The Volvo XC90 is admittedly a beautiful automobile.
From a reliability standpoint it can’t hold a similar Lexus’ jockstrap.
