Translation, you can take the buyout or we can just terminate you in a few months.
At this point why even waste money going to college?
People under 22 years old are pretty much F'd.
Learn to be a plumber I guess.

It was bound to happen even before AI, market is flooded with onshore and offshore people that do the same thing.

i was a licensed plumber before i got my college degree (mechanical engineering).... but because of that experience (plumber/pipefitter) i am indispensable in my current position.

It's across four countries, so maybe see what impact it has to the U.S. before writing college off altogether?
Also, those who don't go to college will be way behind, as, like you mentioned, they will be competing against a lot of others that do have a college background.
So, if a trade isn't in your future (and this is a GREAT option if you choose it), then you better go to college.

Perhaps they are getting rid of forced DEI dead weight shitty employees? In fact, that's exactly what they are doing - All companies are doing it

They're just getting rid of 60,000 DEI hires?
That's your theory?

Don’t kid yourself, man. I followed a similar path and it served me very well through my career. However, layoff decisions are made far away from folks who understand the actual workforce needs. Your salary catches the eye of some bean counter who knows nothing about plumbing or engineering, you will be gone in an hour.

American companies should have to RIF offshore personnel first.

Microsoft employs 240,000 people? WOW that’s shocking to me.
I’m curious how many of these are in the states.
