There’s your problem. A nap should be 45 minutes tops.

Even as a teenager I took naps on days when I could. By college naps were mandatory 4-5 days a week. Napping has never interfered with sleeping at night for me.

The Saints have been fricking up my napping. Usually, I put the game on and nap, but the last few weeks I’ve actually been entertained by the games.

In my 60’s and since I’ve changed my diet to severely limit carbs and no processed foods I sleep much better at night. Beforehand, I was taking naps all the time because I simply wasn’t getting good sleep at night. I am convinced that most all of our society’s health issues are a direct result of the foods we eat. I’d encourage you to take an honest look at what you are putting into your body. Just my 2 cents.

I’m 58. For the last 20 years or so my Saturday routine is usually get up early and go ride 50+ miles on my bicycle, have a shower and lunch, then take a 30-60 minute nap.

Pickleball has replaced cycling, but the nap remains.

And it’s glorious.

I nap fairly often during the work week. I will lie down for about an hour after work.

The only time I want to nap is if I have any alcohol for Brunch/Lunch.

Noticed this started around my late 50s.

A tailgating situation is the exception, I’m on my feet and engaged, I guess that doesn’t allow me to calm down.

Solution is to not day drink.

I’m 33 so not the demographic asked. But I don’t nap. Can’t even nap when I’m sick. Had the flu and I’m pretty sure my inability to nap is what kept me sick for longer.

Even if I’m dog arse tired and didn’t sleep the night before, something in my brain will not let me fall asleep before 730 PM at the earliest.

Even as a kid I couldn’t nap. If I fell asleep during the day I’d be out for minimum 4 hours.

It sucks. There are days I’d love to take a nap.

Not near as bad as a grown man ‘sleeping in’ past daylight. Nieces boyfriend came in for Christmas. Entire family had been up for hours while most men in the house out and about, and this fig comes rolling out crusty face and pjs at 10:00am.

Jesus Christ.. i cant wait for this line of thinking to die out.. this is a thread with “grown men” talking about napping for anywhere from 15 min to 2 hrs in the middle of the day, and you’re gonna complain about a kid sleeping til 10am ? I bet that guy (niece’s bf or whatever) doesnt need a nap, if he’s sleeping til 10am… Why is one method better than the other ? Why it gotta be your way ?? Sleep is sleep, doesnt matter when you get it, unless youre on the clock at work or something- and i guarantee many of the schlubs in this thread have nodded off at work from time to time .
