Paper wasps (Pollistes) are the most mellow. I think hornets are the meanest. I despise red wasps, but I have some around the house in a few spots and they aren't aggressive towards me. I'm not a fan of yellow jackets.

The 20th Maine Volunteer Infantry Regiment on Little Round Top were some mean WASPs.

YJs are more prone to sting, red wasp stings hurt the worst.

Never encountered a hornet before. Red wasp fricking hurt by themselves but yellow jackets are the real a-hole of the wasp family

frick a yellow jacket. If you ever go over a nest with a lawnmower, you will agree with me.

An aside: why aren't there any major teams named the Wasps

We have Hornets
Yellow Jackets

I can't think of a single team that's the Wasps.

Bald faced hornets are the nastiest little frickers I’ve ever come across. Not only will they sting the absolute shite out of you, they’ll spit venom in your eyes.

Yellow jackets. Nothing like having them evil bastards come out of the ground while you're bush hogging. An old tractor won't out run them.

I think yellowjackets are considered aggressive.

Id have to say hornets. Seems like yellow jackets and wasps will ultimately give up if you run far enough but a frickling hornet will chase you down. And they damn sure hurt more than the rest.

In my experience, it’s the Guinea Wasps that are the most assholish.

Agreed, and I must have developed an allergy to their venom. Swell me up like the Michelin Man when one of those little frickers stings me!

Wasps will leave you alone if you don't frick with them. Yellowjackets are just ornery from the get go. Never encountered a hornet.

Hornets are the only ones I really have any concern over.

Per sting it’s the hornet. Per being attacked by a posse full of em — the Yellowjacket.

Not sure, but I have been stung by all three and hornets are the worst.
