I don't think I've ever been stung by a hornet. I've been stung by a few wasps and a yellow jacket once. The yellow jacket sting was a mf. Most of the times with wasps it just felt like wrong movement at the wrong time but the yellow jacket knew exactly what it was doing. That shite was personal.

Been bite by all of them. It depends on how many times they get you. Hornets are worse string but they don’t swarm on you like the other too. Red wasp are next on bite mark and if they you in the ear you are going to walk funny. Slightly less is yellow jackets but they are worse swarmers and haven’t probably overall gotten me the most. Pick your poison

Back in the late 80’s every Sunday we rode dirt bikes at a reclaimed surface mine, better known as the Strip Pits climbing hills that we named Moses, Mutt&Jeff and 5th gear hill etc…

There would be anywhere from 50-100 ppl riding on any given Sunday. One particular Sunday a dude from Michigan visiting relatives was riding his cousin’s Quadzilla 500 and wanted to tag along so we let him.

He had to take shite later on so we stop while he walked behind a big spoil pile to do his business. The dude come running out from behind it screaming in a northern accent “Jesus Christ these yellow flies are eating my arse up!” Dude shite by a yellow jacket nest in the ground. I was rolling on the ground laughing and the rest of the day we kept saying “ Jesus Christ these yellow flies are eating my arse up!” Never forget that

Around 1976 bell bottom jeans were in style. One day after school, I was walking down a trail with a pair of Levi’s bell bottoms on and happened to stop right over a yellow jacket nest.
Those little bastards flew out and started circling around inside the bottom of the jeans leg stinging me repeatedly. I was running and swatting them like a crazy man. I think I got stung at least a dozen times that day.

In the 70s we used to play a game called “wasp run.” We would find these wasp nest around -they were always under the eaves on the second story. We would then throw tennis balls at them until someone hit the nest, then you run and see who gets stung. It was actually fun as hell. Typically the person who hit the nest would get stung first because he would stand there and admire the throw a bit too long.

I nailed a big nest once and two wasp hit me like a cruise missile, right down on me and stung me on my ear so bad it really fricked up my equilibrium and I walked funny for days. Lol.

They would build the nest back in a few days and we would start again. (We were little terrors) For you libtards, rarely was a wasp killed.

And our parents said, after the fact because we were free range kids, “serves you dumbasses right. Leave the wasp alone.” But we did what the frick we wanted because we were free range kids

Red wasps are actually very docile. I mess with them a lot and it’s hard to get stung unless you actually touch or brush against their nest

I got stung by three red wasps when I wasn’t within 10 feet of where they were entering under the roof to access their nest.

With that said, I kill every wasp and frick with every wasp nest that I’ve ever come across because I despise them that much. I have a personal vendetta against wasps.

Every spring I dust the usual places where they build nests.

I managed to go through 40+ years of never being stung by an insect until a Yellowjacket last summer. So those bastards get my vote.

I think every time I have to move old crossties, yellow jackets are just waiting to attack. And they will chase you for a country mile. I hate them.

Hornets

No comparison. I’ve had them chase me 200 yards through the woods

Yellow jackets. Nothing like having them evil bastards come out of the ground while you're bush hogging. An old tractor won't out run them.

Twice I've run over them with a push mower and the foot race commenced. They won.

One time hit a rotten downed tree while bush hogging right next to a creek with a high bank. My fight or flight was kicking in while realizing the tractor may go over the bank.
They won...13 times including 3 stings to my face.

Suckers hurt like crap. First time I had ever been chased by bugs.
Yep

Mine was Guinea wasps which had made a nest in an unseen animal skull. Not real sure what type skull because of my haste in exit. We were scouting this rapid to see where to run so there was little room to run in the boulders. And my buds laughed for weeks as I dove in and swam that damn drop without a helmet. Which is why they still hit me a couple times on the back of the head as I came up for air.......(both times).

Might not be the worst stingers but they still get my full attention. Meanest to me are yellow jackets because they have the shortest fuse.
