Hornets are nasty. Got hit by a big arse European hornet on my finger close the bottom by the hand. Hurt like hell. Woke up at about 4 in the morning and couldn't move my hand, still hurt like hell too, and turned on the light and it looked like I was wearing a baseball glove. Had to go get a shot.

Yellow jackets are mean as hell and suck. Walked into a nest one day and got hit about 15-20 times on legs and arms. I was absolutely woozy the rest of the day. Dizzy like I was drunk and felt like I was going to fall over. Bastards.

There’s a dark maroon red wasp and then there’s those ones that look like Cheetos I’ve never gotten stung by the one that looks like a Chito nor do I want to for some reason it just looks like it would inject fire into your skin

With that said, I kill every wasp and frick with every wasp nest that I’ve ever come across because I despise them that much. I have a personal vendetta against wasps.

I was coming out of the woods in claiborne parish and twanged a line of a barb wire fence. Hornets nest close by didn't agree with the tune. Hit me twice immediately on the right arm. I jumped up on the road and threw down what I was carrying, including my truck keys, and trotted a few steps away so I could get stung 3 more times in the back. I took off about half speed down the highway, got stung 2 more in the face. Sprinted another 4
0 yards and luckily they stopped.
Took me a hour to find my keys. Next stop I stepped on a nail that went through by boot and a inch into my foot.

Suckers hurt like crap. First time I had ever been chased by bugs.

The worst sting of them all is the cow ant which is really a wingless wasp.
As far as flying pests, yellowjackets are awful and will sting you even under water and burrow into clothing to sting you after you run a ways

I got stung by a hornet that came flying out of a rusted metal gate I was trying to close in a pasture. Felt like I got slapped in the side of my face and proceeded to start swelling. My wife thought I had an abscessed tooth when I got home. Little bastards are mean as shite.

If you live around any water you'll have these mean bastiges, they will attack if you just ride by on the lawn mower.

I will never forget sitting on the bech in little league waiting for my at bat and getting stung by 3 YJ that made a nest on the back of the bench

Then I went up for my at bat and got smoked by a 55mph heater in the arm

That game sucked

Bald faced hornets are the nastiest little frickers I’ve ever come across. Not only will they sting the absolute shite out of you, they’ll spit venom in your eyes.

Many years ago.. (as in the 60's) My cousin an I were in the woods with a 22 shooting stuff when my cousin saw a hornets nest hanging in a tree a little ways from where we were.. He thought it would be great to shoot the nest...

Unfortunately, the hornets followed the heat trail of the bullet back to where we were... not a pleasant experience...

Wasps are cool if you're cool with them. Yellowjackets are territorial, but not bad if you leave them alone. Hornets can eat a bag of dicks. Those frickers dive bomb you looking for a fight, and they know they can win that fight.

Never encountered a hornet before. Red wasp fricking hurt by themselves but yellow jackets are the real a-hole of the wasp family

Yellow jackets are the devil's midget spawn. Bald-face hornets are the devil's giant spawn. They will chase you much further and hit you as if they were swinging a mini bat.

I was working in a nursery, gathering up large cans that had dead plants in them. We'd yank the dead plant out and dump the soil on the soil pile. I yanked out a plant to find that they had built a nest in the bottom of this large pot. Those mean SOBs chased me 1/4 mile and hit me almost 30 times. Made me sick and I was covered in welps.

Yellow jackets will tear your arse up. I ran over an underground nest with a push mower once and hope that never happens again. Ouch.

Red wasps are actually very docile. I mess with them a lot and it’s hard to get stung unless you actually touch or brush against their nest
