"He's not completely innocent here because that shite went on for too long for one party to be completely innocent"
How do you prevent someone from following you?
He may be totally innocent, who knows...

Amazing that all this info has been released so quickly. Usually it's several days. Dude hasn't even been dead for 24 hrs yet.
They did a great job getting out in front of the Blm/NAACP false narrative that was being pushed on social media.

Just curious, if he was fearing for his life, why did he roll down his window?

No. That would eliminate pulling a gun on someone or threatening them with a deadly weapon from outside of the vehicle.
You're wrong broseph. If somebody attempts to enter my vehicle I'm within my rights to shoot them regardless if they have a weapon

maybe he already had his window rolled down enjoying the nice upper-60 degree weather

Sounds like the initial story was brought to us by the same witnesses who saw St. Michael Brown executed by a cop while his hands were up.

I'm just thinking out loud...like what would someone have to do for me to fear my life from the other side of the car. They would be having to show me a weapon or telling me they were going to kill me.
1) We know from the pics JM was the aggressor. Pulled up beside the Infiniti. Pushed the mirror in on the passenger side
2) The cops released shooter after hearing self defense claims, and finding casing inside the Infiniti
. . . . If shooter claims JM dove into his car in an attempt to make a grab for the gun. Game over. He walks

If McKnight hadnt "entered" the car through the window would the shooting possibly still be ruled as justified self defense? Or would that be super murky
Only if the shooter was in reasonable fear of imminent death or grave bodily harm.
If McKnight is just at his window and yelling at him or something to that effect, then no it wouldn't be justified.

wonder if the 2 women in the doorway on the left were witnesses or the guy in the white wifebeater?

The shooter should be thankful he made it into Jeff parish first.

Serious question because I don't know the law. Why did Cardell have to stay in jail while Gasser doesn't when both will be making arguments for self defense?

Looks like a turn lane.
Possibly, but the orientation of the car doesn't suggest he was trying to turn. Perhaps it has been moved, although that doesn't make sense for the investigation to move it.
In other words, if the Audi wasn't moved, it doesn't look like McKnight had any intention of turning in that lane.

I don't know what to think about this. When the the story first came out, the witness's account is what painted the picture for me, as to what happened. But her story was complete fabricated right? Isn't that a crime?
Anyway, I can sit here and say "why didn't he just do this or he should have did that", but its one of those situations in which its easy to monday morning quarterback if you never been in that exact situation. After reading through some of this thread, it seems like JM exited his car, went to the window of the shooter's car which is when the shooter shot JM.
Was JM just standing outside of the shooter's car or was he trying to get into his car?
Could this be compared to the Will Smith situation in any way?

f you shoot a person that has not attempted to enter your vehicle...you aren't sleeping in your bed that night. Gasser would be in jail if McKnight was just standing outside his car yelling at him.
I am unsure how people on here think they can shoot someone who is unarmed for yelling at them. If I am wrong, I would like to know how.

Both vehicles are past that right veer of and sitting at the white line for the light.

quote:Murkier for sure. But that statute states the intruder can be "attempting" to enter the dwelling or motor vehicle. So yes they can be outside the car (I presume).

Since the driver's side window was half way down, the passenger side was probably like that too
