Nah, man. This isn't looking good for Joe. The Audi is the blue box below. He was definitely the aggressor here.

You and shel misunderstood what I meant. I was referring that lethal self-defense would be justified even is someone was not actively trying to enter your vehicle. An example would be if someone had a gun or pipe and threatening you from outside of your car. Verbal assault could also lead to a justified shooting.

Some people here a trying to make it a clear cut boundary issue under LA's Castle Doctrine but that is not necessarily the case just because vehicles are involved.
Ah gotcha.

Then yes, I agree.

The cop in N.O. that taught my CC class clearly stated to my class that a person needed to be reaching into the vehicle. You can't shoot an unarmed person standing around the perimeter of your car.

McKnight seems to have crossed the threshold, due to Gasser walking.

Again- people are saying I am wrong about this, but this is what I was told/taught in class. If I am wrong, please tell me how and source experience stated in explanation.

It may be that the cop was explaining to you the "clear cut" scenario in which you are justified...where in reality, there is a lot of gray area.

oh wow... that's not even a turn lane... they both were already beyond the cut-through to make that right turn

Normand did a good job getting the facts out, but that press conference was a disaster. He spend the first 10 minutes calling out the social media pressure and stated he wouldn't release any details, then he laid out all of the details they had about the casings in the car and the coroner explained the bullet entry/exits.

Weird. I'm just the opposite. When you're dealing with simpletons, then you speak slow and deliberate as not to be misunderstood in the slightest. I think his tome and demeanor was perfect, and his message was poignant.

The details he gave were on point for the dumbass left that would try to incite violence vs. non people of color, as well as violence in the community as a whole in the form of looting. No false narrative for the race baiters, the media, the snowflakes, and the other domestic terrorists.

Addressing the dumbasses outside protesting for no good god damned reason. And subsequently line by line telling them what was going to happen, and what the frick wasn't going to happen.

Kudos on a job very well done.

Yeah. Now, what led up to that we'll never know but from everything we know now it seems like Gasser will walk.

Yeah by then what defines entering the car? It's not as cut and dry as someone entering a house. Technically if even is finger crossed the barrier of the window he entered the car, but he could have bent in to say "Hey man why have you been flipping me off?" (They haven't said who was following who yet to my knowledge).

Things are subject to change, and if Joe was trying to jump through the window then I think he was justified, but at this moment I have a hard time thinking he didn't help escalate the situation, got nervous, and shot.

I'm not sure if the side view mirror is that big of a deal or not. The vehicles are very close. Hell, I don't know if McKnight could have gotten out without hitting the Infiniti with his door. They may have closed the mirror after taking pictures in order to allow for more access. Surely that cop in the background can't make it through with the mirror fully extended.

Also it looks like JM's car is not in a traffic lane, like he pulled up deliberately to harass or threaten

Assuming that Behrman is a 4 lane road like I always remembered, that can't be true. He had to pull up one way or another unless there was an additional vehicle in front of him.

to add more to the person who asked why Hayes had to stay in jail while Gasser's out and about

I would add the evidence is pointing to both McKnight and Hayes being the aggressor in each cash

if that's the case, why not push both mirrors in? or at least push the audi mirror (which looks a lot bigger) in ?
