If you are going to get one of these systems, it's definitely more useful for the Strokes Gained data than distance.
I agree with this part. Strokes gained data is much more helpful to me. It really pointed out how much my iron play was killing me. Tee shots and putting number were always above my playing handicap, but approach was way behind. I have the tags that also show your swing data so they can be used during play or while just hitting balls for practice at the range or in a net at home. Makes it more worth the cost to me.

The yardages also never really worked. I like to hit punch shots with my 4 iron and it would always calculate those into my average distance so I’d have to go in manually and remove those. They were supposed to have improved a lot of those features but I don’t see myself ever going back to it.
This is the biggest problem I have with any kind of tracking. It's going to factor in those kinds of shots, or even fat/thin shots that just don't go the distance a properly struck shot would go. While that technically would give me a "true average" of how far my shots go, that isn't helpful for trying to plan my shot while I'm playing. I'm not planning to fat/thin/chunk or whatever a shot. I want to know how far properly struck shots are going only and no one can really give you that info without a lot of extra work on the back end.
I like to choke down a little and flight my wedges into the green low. For example, I can hit my gap wedge 115-120, but I'll use it 100 yards out and just flight it in low. Tons more control this way for me. Same with my sand wedge. I can hit it 95-105 yards, but I'll use it from 80-90 yards and flight it in low for more control. My GIR percentages have gone up a good bit doing this.

TP5. I can usually find good sales to help on price.

I don't know if this is right, but whenever I have any kind of unfavorable lie when chipping, I always go toe down chip.
In for free stuff
re: 60-90 yards out. Tight fairway lie. What club(s) are your options
Posted by JScoop8 on 4/29/26 at 9:08 am to Riseupfromtherubble
This is why I like one of my wedges to be low bounce. The course I play has a good bit of tight lies so I have low bounce on my 60 degree and more forgiving bounce on my 56 degree. My club selection when in that range or closer usually comes down to the lie being tight or not.
Turn off slope. They may use different algorithms to calculate slope. I wouldn’t expect them to be that far off, but measuring without slope is the best way to compare accuracy.
re: What age were you introduced to Golf? What age did you introduce your kids to Golf?

I didnt really start playing until about 21 years old. I had played only a hand full of times before that. I have a son that just turned 3 a few weeks ago. I've already taken him out on the course twice. I just drop a ball on the ground for him every time I take a shot and when we get near the green I give him the putter so he can putt around. I have mom tag along with us too to help keep him engaged. He made it all 18 holes each time. We played early sunday morning so no one out on the course and we finish in about 3 hours max. I make sure he has a surplus of snacks and water too. He has been hitting plastic golf balls in the backyard since he could walk. Its all he ever wants to do out in the yard until the sun goes down.
How can it accurately give you carry distance numbers without measuring spin? Is this LM tracking the entire flight of the golf ball?
I'll take a "I Will Wade for you" shirt, thanks.
Reinstate no one, give all free stuff to me.
It finally just let me log back in to YTTV on my firestick on my tv.

There are some nice houses that are price friendly for that size group in Fort Morgan. That will put you right by Kiva and not far from Peninsula. Craft Farms may take 20-30 mins to get to from there as well.

I just won $370 in a paid league. Not a big league, 37 people with a $10 entry but I’ll take it!

Checking in with Philly this week
Not even on TV in central MS. For some reason we get cowboys at giants?
It's On Demand in the ESPN app. Just type TGL in the search and scroll down to the On Demand section.
