I don’t think setting your thermostat does a damn bit of good….virtually the same rate of heat transfer.

78 is not bad in June, July, and August - especially if you are outside in 95 degree weather a lot.
However, during the Spring, Fall, and winter - 78 inside feels like an oven.

I slept fine at summer camp in Texas for 10 years and boarding school in CT for HS for 4 years w/zero AC. Been to many other places w/o it in the US and abroad as well.
It's not like I prefer it or anything but it's also not the end of the world.

I never said having no AC is no big deal.
I said I've slept w/o AC for many years in many hot as frick situations which is why I don't think sleeping w/the AC set at 78 in your house or apartment is a big deal as long as you have fans for circulation.

If you have an Ecobee thermostat, the government can do that for you.
