Sounds like he is trying to avoid any massive electrical outages. I don’t see much wrong with this message.
Wierd...that didn't happen last year, right? Wonder what has changed? Hmmmmmmmmmm

Oddly I don’t like cold air blowing on me, and 78 sounds fine when you’re not in a place like Louisiana, Florida, Texas.
Not sure why people on TD hate America so much. NYC is awesome.

mandamni could tell this place to not try and breath under water and this place do it and maybe drown...or just give up and come to the surface coughing.
if 78 ever feels hot to you, step outside for a minute and come back in.
feel good, now that you got that stupidity out?
Maybe when you're outside working on a 100 degree summer day and you feel over heated, you can go sit in your car for a minute, and then step back outside.

A friend called me, asked if I’d installed a new thermostat that he had gotten. I asked where did he get it, he said it can be programmed from his phone, does all kinds of things, the power company gave it to him.
First I told him nothings free, second, if you can control it, they can too, they can also override your settings!
He decided to throw it in the garbage.

Ftr, science says the ideal sleeping temp for humans for deep sleep and brain health is in the mid 60s.
The best night's sleep I've ever gotten was in the back of an suv, on a custom cut memory foam mattress, with a few down comforters and a wool blanket... At negative 10 degrees somewhere in the northern upper peninsula.
The case of water by my head froze solid.
Had the windows cracked for air, best night's sleep ever.

Meanwhile, he's sitting in his penthouse suit in 72 degrees...

Really isn't that bad.
My 87y/o mother would agree to this...

Its just a simple suggestion. 78 isnt bad especially if you are gone. Thats what I leave mine at when gone. Then 75ish when home and down to 72 at bed.

When we leave the house for a few days and the dogs stay home by themselves I put the house at 74 for them.
78 is not comfortable for anyone.

Could you imagine the smell of 3 million immigrants sweating all night with no deodorant.

He’s just repeating standard energy efficiency guidelines. Our power company says this all the time.

They ask the same thing in Texas when the grid stresses or we get rotating brownouts after a half inch of snow.
Is it ok for me to be triggered just for NYC?

A lot of them douse themselves with cologne/perfume, but it doesn't really help.
