A guy I worked with had a new Camaro, not sure which model but one of the 500+hp versions. He took it to a car wash and left it to be detailed. One of the workers hopped in it to move it, hit the gas, lost control and ran it into a concrete wall. That in itself was a problem, but it was made an even bigger problem because another worker was between the Camaro and the wall. It killed him. The driver, an illegal alien, bailed and disappeared.

The mark up is NOT the problem. Idiots with more money (credit access) than brains paying it IS the problem.

They destroyed his property they do not get to decide what it was worth. he gets to decide what his collectable, rare, vehicle is worth. Why is he negotiating with them instead of his attorney?

Same thing happened to a friend's 1993 Cobra. He babied it kept on a garage with low miles. Took it in for service and a tech wrecked it into a car carrier.

What would you do in the 6 years that it took to resolve the case? You would spend $40,000 on a decent attorney, you would be without a car or have to buy one yourself. After 6 years, they may give you a car, but you’d be out 40k for attorneys fees, payments on 2 cars… you would end up in the hole. So it’s a waste of time and money. So, it’s a stupid reaction to say you would “sue the frick out of them”. They don’t care. They have insurance that will wear you down.
When attorneys get involved, nobody wins but the attorneys.

In college I had an 03 DSG Cobra and had to take it in to get the driver side window motor replaced under warranty. Got a call from a friend saying he just saw "me" joy riding through campus while I was actually sitting at home on the sofa. Ran down to the dealership to ask where my car was and they freaked out. Claimed the tech had to test drive it to make sure the window worked properly. Luckily they got him back to the dealership before he was able to frick anything up. Brought it up to the owner and he personally made sure they babied the shite out of that thing any time it was back there.

Bowers has already made a deal with the guy. He couldn't have the negative publicity hurting his dealerships.
