Imagine if you were jaywalking and that triangle section landed all around you.

That's why you always have to stay out of the line of fire.

I don't even know what this is supposed to mean. I think I know what you're going for, and bravo for the typical southern "yankee hate".

Having worked with cranes, shite is super dangerous. Each of those boom sections weighs a couple thousand pounds. Guy that worked with us lost his left hand getting it trapped between two sections. Crushed it.

All it takes is one gust of wind, or one accidental push of the controls, and that's all she wrote.

Could you imagine how loud that was when it toppled over?

Do you think there will be a claim made for a defective airbag?

Your brain will be telling you it's not real. It would take a while to process it.

I saw a huge branch fall off a Water Oak on a windless day. It was surreal.

If I were a Manhattan plaintiff's lawyer I'd be doing some creative advertising around that scene right now. Billboard trucks, guys wearing sandwich boards, sponsoring a victim's aide tent with food trucks...

Amazing that it landed perfectly in the street like that

Sure, after it glanced off a building or two.

Wonder if there was a crane operator inside at the time? If so, he's almost certainly the fatality.

NORTH 10 TO 20 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 30 MPH.

Hope a heavy load wasn't lifted at those wind speeds. Refinery crane work is very limited with that kind of wind.
