Holy hell... y'all seen the pic of the shooter dead on the floor in the hotel room?

10 suitcases were found in his room. It isn't that hard especially in a place like Vegas for people to come and go with large amounts of luggage.
Especially over the course of a few days. Dude could have gone up with two bags... gone back down, gambled for a bit, had dinner, gone out to his car in the garage and brought two more up, rinse and repeat.
Or he might have just had the hotel bring them all up at once and it wouldn't have been THAT odd, he was staying in a large suite, they didn't have to all be for him.

The complete lack of information is mystifying.
Not really. If they're checking out possible accomplices, the girlfriend, and people trying to take credit, they have to withhold information. That way, during interrogation, you can separate people by how much they know. Either they regurgitate what's been in the media or they have inside knowledge of facts that haven't been released which would prove their involvement.
Standard Operating Procedure.
It just seems like so much less information because he wasn't on social media. The past few lunatics were on social media, so there was plenty of public info for the media to run with. This guy wasn't on social media. It's different.

You think it has to do with a bigger story or just that this guy is a complete anomaly?
I'm waffling back and forth between propaganda-esque reporting of the incident by the government and just playing it closely to the chest.

I am not saying it isn't.
They should release the tapes showing him coming and going with luggage.
Hell, there is probably a camera which covers the door to his room.
Most hotels don't cover guest floors. Elevator is a mixed bag.
But almost certainly video at valet, front desk, lobby etc...

Warning***Seriously gruesome***NSFW
Does that floor match the tour we saw of the room on YouTube?
I could be led to be live that is real, seems to look like him. Obviously not going to just assume it's him though.

IDK, it definitely matches the floor with the gun pics...looks to me like a self-inflicted GSW.

I keep bringing this up, and maybe I'm just paranoid, but why haven't more details about his "substantial property investments" been released? I figure it would be easy to find a paper trail for a supposed multi-millionaire property investor.
Jesus Christ are you people sick?
Tell me, why do you think you’re entitled to such pertinent information right away? They are still investigating everything, yet you feel like you should have the same access to information that the police have?

I can shoot a pressurized can and make it a shrapnel fire bomb. Are you comfortable calling all pressurized canned products, such as spray paint, shrapnel fire bombs?
If I mix chicken stock with vegetables, I am comfortable calling it vegetable soup, because that's what it is, even if the ingredients could have become something else or nothing at all.
I understand the restrictions on purchasing auto weapons legally. But it is apparently easy enough to convert a semi auto military style weapon into a fully auto, so the conversation needs to revolve around that.
Is cocaine any less dangerous or destructive than crack, if everyone knows how to make that ghetto D?

For those of us who are only familiar with hunting rifles/guns, can you enlighten us on the error here?
a buffer system is necessary for an AR-15 to function - it is what sends the bolt carrier & bolt back into battery. they act like it's some sort of accessory or modification to make the gun have less recoil
buffer tube, buffer spring, and buffer (silver thing)
watch this. the white part is the buffer, and you can see the spring compressing

No, they weren't, the gun still fires with every pull of the trigger
No, it's semantics. The gun was firing auto. You don't actually have to keep pulling the trigger with a bump stock, correct? The recoil of the gun causes the trigger to keep pulling, not you moving your finger back and forth.

That's individual trigger pulls, i.e. semiautomatic.

fricking a-hole.
listening to police scanner.
They said shots fired on 29 and 32nd floor.
security guy shot in leg on 32nd floor. he shot down hallway, hit security.
"sounds confirmed, at least 2 shooters with automatic weapons"
get cameras watching 29 and 32nd floor

There is a very good argument that lives were spared because of the faster rate of fire. There is a reason the Marine Corps moved away from full auto and burst fire and insisted on semi automatic, aimed fire for their marksmanship programs. Fully auto weapons are more for support and suppression for fire and movement, rather than just "mow down" a wave of people.
This is a ridiculous position and why gun conversations go no where. This guy wasn't a marine. He figured out a way to cause a ton of destruction, by himself, with (what we believe to be) legal weapons.
He wasn't a marksman, he knew that, so he rigged his weaponry to cause maximum destruction with the skills he did have. Don't liken this to war, it was a massacre of innocent, unsuspecting people.
