Tell me, why do you think you’re entitled to such pertinent information right away? They are still investigating everything, yet you feel like you should have the same access to information that the police have?

What fricking world am I living in?

Probably the same folks would urge patience whenever there is a police involved shooting where the activists want to immediately protest before the facts come out.

You can disagree with the comparison to military situation, but you cant argue with the reason the Marine Corps switched its marksmanship program.

The reason I disagree with the comparison is because it's apples to oranges. The military didn't switch away from full-auto rifles because they think they can rack a higher body account firing into a mass of bystanders with semi-autos.

quote:

understand your thought process here, but he wasnt using a SAW with a bipod. An AR at hundreds of yards, with a bump fire, is going to have significant muzzle rise and end up spraying rounds all over the place. He did not have a bipod or any other stabilizing device other than a grip that doesnt offer nearly as much stability.

I don't know the guy's ability to wield relative control over his muzzle with the bump fire. I've never actually used it and I don't know how much he practiced. It seems to me though like dumping a few hundred or so of full auto volleys into an unsuspecting crowd of tens of thousands is going to be highly effective even if you are a little unstable. and he wasn't using bursts, he was in sustained fire mode so I assume he felt relatively under control. He had enough weapons with him to switch to semi once there were enough wounded or scattered as to where single fire accuracy trumped the efficacy of shear volume.

Sadly I think he laid the strategy out perfectly to maximize casualties.

Once youve shot a full auto gun, you should inderstand how to control one.

Would a m16 be accurate shooting full auto at that distance?

Not really, but in a mass of 20,000 people it doesnt need to be.

As far as controlling the gun and shooting the ceiling and muzzle rise.

Its not hard to control and people are overanalyzing the muzzle rise.

This is a ridiculous position and why gun conversations go no where. This guy wasn't a marine. He figured out a way to cause a ton of destruction, by himself, with (what we believe to be) legal weapons.

He wasn't a marksman, he knew that, so he rigged his weaponry to cause maximum destruction with the skills he did have. Don't liken this to war, it was a massacre of innocent, unsuspecting people.

I was replying to another person who appears to have knowledge of weapons and tactics, how firearms work, and appeared to be able to use reason. Not you. You don't get to determine what is discussed here, so if you dont like or cant comprehend what I say, you can agree to disagree and move on.

Is anyone protesting?

People just want to know what happened and to have some semblance of an understanding as to his motivations.

We have nothing.

I think its pretty significant at that distance. Also has quite a bit to do with shooter skill, and nobody seems to know what his skill level was.

Its pretty damn incredible for a guy like him to own multiple real estate holdings and have his lifestyle and the media not be able to find anything at all about him online.

Maybe so, but about 10 minutes on the Nevada SoS website and the Clark County assessors office shows Paddock was the managing member of Paradise Ranch 21, LLC. Paradise Ranch 21, LLC was a 3.5795% owner in two parcels of land purchased in Henderson, NV, for $8.6MM combined, making Paddock's stake $308k. This was purchased in 5/2006, but the land is still vacant as of the aerial photo from 3/2017.

Maybe they're still analyzing his computer and phone. Who knows, but it is definitely taking a while to get information out, which they usually get out relatively soon

For the sale of conspiracy nuts.

The wife said the pic looks legit like a self inflicted inner oral gunshot.

Lets just say the wife has more than enough experience with this.

LVPD said last night that a Mandalay Bay security guard was shot on the 32nd floor by Paddock; LVPD also said last night that Paddock didn't kill himself and made it out of the room at one point shooting at officers; so much confusion.

I'm more interested in why they kept saying a 2nd shooter on floor 29.
