can you imagine having kids, a spree killer on the loose, and a helicopter circling your neighborhood for 3-4 hours?

That has to be one of the most eerie and sinister feelings known to mankind. Especially with the shooter being so well trained too

Nah, he got away. No reason to do that unless he’s about to be apprehended

The gunman at large is active Army or ex Army, or is he the pedo?

Army Reserve and a trained firearms instructor.

Card also recently reported mental health issues, including hearing voices and allegedly made threats to shoot up the National Guard base in Maine, according to the bulletin which cited law enforcement.

He was also reportedly committed to a mental health facility for two weeks over the summer.

The situation is tragic. It is also another example of how gun laws do not stop gun violence.

Ban assault rifles! -- The Left

Take a look in this thread, the right are equally as dumb and annoying.

The playbook
1. Immediately deny news report, blame media
2. Once confirmed, call it a hoax or conspiracy to take their guns.

These shootings used to shock the nation to its core. Now you read the headline and your immediate reaction is “omg now the media is going to try and my gun again !”

That's what happens each time. How do you expect people to react?

Dudes guns should have been taken away when he reported mental health issues and threatened to shoot up a base

somethings are kind of odd with this one.

we had picture of the suspect within the first hour.
we knew his name in hour 2.
we knew his complete military medical history by hour 3.

i'm not suggesting any conspiracy. but media and Maine law enforcement certainly handled this case differently.

I agree that is strange. I was especially surprised by the medical history bit.

I think time it happened (night) and urgency to get out information because he's still at large.

Why does it seem that every one of these shooters has a documented mental health history and is on the FBI watch list?

The FBI can’t stop these shootings but we are supposed to believe laws that restrict guns will do the job?

And this thread was incredibly shitty start to finish but I guess that was predictable

The OT used to be a great place to follow events like this. You’d have police scanners, multiple live updates, posters linking maps, and in general a good discussion about the event.

But since COVID the OT has become a small extension of political talk and the place honestly fricking sucks now. This thread was gross and it was completely expected.

And even then I'm willing to bet this guy is halfway to the Hudsen Bay by now.

He was a known threat. They already had a file on him. (Most of these crazies already have an FBI file).

Media was giddy to release White male, firearms instructor, National Guard. They couldn't wait.

You can thank your over reaching government for this.
Used to be government was sort of something you could chat about with others when the weather was nice.
Now, with the in your face politics and new world order, it has consumed too many people

Unfortunately this is common life now. It's funny making friends in a new city, you can obviously tell people are asking questions purely designed to find out if I'm a Trump or Biden fan. Politics have become the new religion in our secular world.

I stated way earlier in the thread that there are many unmonitored border crossings (I.e. land not roads) between Maine and Canada especially up in the tippiest NE corner.

If he had transportation waiting at that boat ramp he could be almost anywhere within 10 hour driving distance by now.
