Disagree. Then the only people without guns would be law abiding people.

Just think about how much shite is smuggled into our country everyday. People, fentanyl, stolen merchandise, etc.

Yes. Maybe we should.

But not the government.

I take crime stats with a grain of salt these days with the way that crimes are rebadged to lesser offenses to make the stats look better.

14 years old. Just crazy. When I was 14 I for sure wasn’t ever thinking about killing anyone. I got pick
On plenty being a smaller kid.. but that was in the early 70’s. Just very different and simple times back then. And I never worried about something like that happening in any of my schools.

Love how they are still saying it's "near" Atlanta.

We have to drastically change how we handle mental illness in this country.

Yep.

We need to stop fricking coddling it or giving it a pill.

Our society is sick

This isn't a gun issue

We live under a failed government

I get ya'll's point about Winder

But we're mostly splitting hairs. The neighborhoods are similar, most Winder people are metro ex-pats, a lot of recent ones too, the huge majority still regularly make the short trip into the metro for stuff and there are certainly people who commute into the metro daily.

I had guns in my gun rack every damn day at school. Not one time did it ever enter my mind to go shoot up a school.

Sick fricks

I kid. Winder is the same distance from Atlanta that Carrollton is on the other side of town. Gainesville, also.

Every hurricane that hits Louisiana is discussed in terms of its proximity to New Orleans. It’s just how things work in a large nation where most people have zero geographical knowledge and require major city references

My wife is a SPED teacher. She had a student last year who was a straight up psychopath. He would attach teacher and students. He had zero remorse for any damage or pain he inflicted. The teacher's begged the parents to get the child help, but they wouldn't. The mom was busy posting selfies of her new hair cut and clothes on facebook while the dad was checked out. It was getting to the point that I was afraid for her safety.

My whole point being that the break down of families is the root cause of our problems. Short of fixing that, we'll never see an end to events like this.

Kids today are dealing with internet echo chambers, fake social media, and instant gratification which causes anxiety, depression, and other mental disorders. It all fits on a device with a screen that fits in the palm of your hand too.

Overall kids are killing less than before. So it’s not really a “kids are worse these days” issue

You're operating under the assumption that the metric has always been the same.

Arrest numbers and violent crime numbers will be skewed when you have insane woke policy decriminalizing everything and DA's that no longer hold anyone accountable.

Yet, in real life, if you actually go to San Fransisco and walk around downtown there is crime EVERYWHERE.

How many NFL players were getting shot in the 70's - 90's?

The 49ers 1st rd draft pick was shot in a robbery at point black yesterday and Brian Robinson was shot in the leg last year.

We have a piece of shite human problem. We have a multi-generational problem that is exascerbated by zero parental guidance, rap culture, lack of accountability for the child, a lack of accountability for people that make 6 babies and don't take care of them.

The cherry on top is media exposure, specifically social media on mobile devices without parent moderation that has made this problem explode.

I don't buy the bullshite charts that say "violence has declined by 67% since blah, blah, blah." bullshite. I put as much validity into something like that as I do in "vaccine efficacy" and "covid deaths". It's all bullshite.

It is an absolute warzone in every major city in America, much of which isn't even reported or investigated.

There has never been a time in the history of this country since perhaps it's 1776 inception where the 2nd amendment has been so important.
