She is so insanely stupid. Calling people extremists with no known views is very irresponsible.

Wouldnt expect anything less from her honestly.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation said they plan to provide another statement to the public at 4 p.m.

If at 4 they don't say it's a white male, then it's an LGBT+ person

Boy this would be interesting

His points that he FEELS crime is out of control and that it's a warzone (which dilutes the meaning of an actual warzone).

Access to an AR and mental health issues (caused in no small part by social media) are a bad combo for a bullied HS kid.

Really? It's the ACCESS to the AR right?

So access to a semi-automatic rifle is the cause of mass shootings?

What about all of the mass shootings in the 1940's - now with the Browning BAR? That's a semi-automatic battle rifle typically chambered in 30-06 that is also an extremely common hunting rifle.

What about M1A's chambered in .308? Another common semi-automatic rifle available at every gun store.

Henry lever guns. 1911's. Browning A5 shotguns. Mossberg 590's.

There are so many extremely lethal "weapons of war" that have always been available and so many of us grew up around them. Why didn't I go shoot up a school?

his just isn’t true your argument is just nothing but fear mongering. We have evidence from other similar countries that gun regulation can work and cut down on massacres like this while also not leading to some hypothetical dictatorship.

Slippery slope on the mental illness side. I am sure a large very large portion of our population is on some kind of med. Add,adhd, anxiety, ptsd….the list goes on and on.

Mental illness is a catch all and the powers that be would love to prevent anyone that has or is taking prescribed meds from owning a firearm.

Prayer and turning back to God. All we need are 10 laws and they were clearly spelled out by the creator.

The rest were devised by man to control or impact certain groups or people to keep us at war with one another.

Killing is and will always be a crime. No law will stop it.

I'm not sure we disagree. Mental wellness includes knowing & acting on right vs. wrong correctly.

CNN is reporting that the school received phoned in warning about the shooting early this morning.

The caller stated that there would be 5 school shootings today and that Apalachee would be first.

18 people were killed in the University of Texas shooting in 1996. A year prior to Columbine (1998) 15 people were injured, 5 killed, by an 11 and 13 year old at a middle school shooting in Arkansas.

Certainly, I'm not saying Columbine wasn't worthy of news coverage. But it was the first notable school shooting in the "information age", TV and internet, that provided wall to wall exposure, nation and worldwide, to so many people like never before.

I doubt any of those involved in the shooting today new anything about Columbine. But that was the even that triggered "mass school shootings" becoming a huge focal point of society...even though there were routinely shootings a schools for decades prior (though not necessarily on that scale)

Guns have always been available. Hell, you could argue they were much tougher to obtain in 1999 than they were in 1969. But if asked where the line between a school shooting being a sad, but brief news story, and something becoming a "societal epidemic", I'd argue it is Columbine because it was the first occasion it allowed kids who felt they were misfits and/or social outcast the opportunity to gain nation and worldwide infamy...even in death.

The columbine situation was a on a different level. There were two shooters acting in unison with multiple weapons and they setup propane tanks they were hoping would explode in certain areas of the school.

They planned this for a long time and there was so much the media could draw from to make a story in this case.

Kids today are dealing with internet echo chambers, fake social media, and instant gratification which causes anxiety, depression, and other mental disorders. It all fits on a device with a screen that fits in the palm of your hand too.

And AI will grow into a bigger problem more than what has already been used by school kids to embarrass other students and teachers.

We have certain limitations on the first amendment when it comes to free speech why some of us have to drag our feet on the second amendment is mind boggling.

Only mind boggling to people like you who know nothing of guns and therefore know nothing of the 2nd Amendment restrictions already in place.

You and your people don’t want to do anything about the vast majority of gun crime which is committed by non-whites with handguns.

The Principal is gonna be in deep shite if the phone call was real and they did nothing. Also I’m gonna bet the person responsible was a known nut job. That’s how most of these things end up. Somewhere along the way someone who knew better didn’t take action.

Pretty sure the founding fathers would agree limits are needed when guns today can mow down children in seconds. And this isn’t about feelings it’s about making sure this shite stops happening at the rate it is.

Oh I just loooooove the “the founding fathers would have……” attempt of a point.

1) People, at the time of the drafting of the constitution had the same weapons the government had.

2) School shooters in the colonial times would have been hanged in the court square if caught alive.

3) Annnnnnny time you soy laden limp wrists wanna pass laws mandating strict sentencing enhancements on gun CRIMES you just step on back in the thread. Mandatory death penalty for school shooters. Heavy enhancements on armed robbery. Etc.

Whenever you are ready. Why do you folks not want this? It’s about the kids isn’t it?? Will you think of the kids??

And the next time you wanna use the “founding fathers would have…….” Lame point…. Think about how much we are laughing at you when you support abortion. That something the founding fathers would have been ok with? What about cradle to grave government handouts? What would they have thought about that? Transgender rights? What would they have thought about that? Same sex marriage? Go ahead. What would it have been? Early voting? Not voting in person? What?

You really wanna preface everything with “the founding fathers would have thought……”? We’ll get the rope ready.. we got murderers in prison that need to go.
