My aunt is one of the biggest Trump supporters you'll ever meet. She has a gigantic Trump flag she displays proudly on her wakeboard boat.

She and her husband hyphenated. People do it for various reasons.

I did not have to force anyone. My wife just did it cause she wanted to and it is traditional.

If she would have wanted to keep her own last name that would have been fine.

Each couple has to work it out.

But, for me, I wouldn't be dating someone on a long term basis that thought keeping their maiden name was a good idea.

My wife took my last name. If anything, she was excited to take my last name.

I would always question motive unless she was famous or the name change cost money. Like a physician etc.

Never even mentioned it
She took my last name and now buys everything she sees with her new last initial on it... (wreaths, rugs, mats, soap dispensers, pillow covers, socks, etc...)
I had no clue they made all this stuff with initials on them

I wouldn't care if she didn't take my last name. I'm not the type to carve my name in shite because I own it though.

My wife did take my name, only because she hoped it would stop the airport searches because of her terrorist last name.

frick people who hyphen. That shite makes my job harder.

My wife is from an elite lineage. She kept her name and I do not blame her. My name is mainly white trash.

One of my bosses uses her maiden name professionally, but uses her married name socially. Doesn't seem to be an issue for them.
