Lol no way Americans go to war against the Chinese. So many people will die on both sides and the cost would be devasting

The missile/rocket batteries I wonder if it’s MLRS (ATACMS) or something more high speed like THAAD? Either way not sure how that helps in littoral combat operations.

They should have zero rotary attack squadrons. Their cobras are a fricking disgrace.

This is true, but I actually see the Chinese under their current leadership basically submitting to us before it ever came to war.

They know good and well what we did to the Japanese when we were faced with a land war that would've cost us hundreds of thousands of lives. And it seems like Trump currently has Xi by the balls somewhat.

They know America and its allies would eventually whip that arse, despite their pride and misconceptions.

That the Marines still have Cobras goes back to a certain General Officer, a Congressman, and Senator from Texas. Do you even Bell Textron, Baw?

Closing two HMLA's is interesting. I can understand 469, but not 367. I've also heard 367 isn't deactivating, but moving back to Pendleton.

I am a former AH-64 pilot. I was coming home fromAfghanistan on R&R in 2013. I came back with a Marine squadron. I was talking to their cobra pilots and they were telling me how absolute shite their aircraft are. I mean fricking A man if you’re going to have an attack helicopter Atleast take the old D models the Army is getting rid of right now.

Would love to hear your comments expanded here. Define disgrace? I assume you would be talking about the Zulu. It has been a mess with the upgrades, but I'll assure you cobras and light attack squadrons are not a disgrace.

All of the meat heads will be replaced by IT guys who can shut down a gov without firing a shot. And they are cheaper, too.

They need the AH-64. Their aircraft is like flattening the curve on corona. It’s just make believe. I’m sure the pilots are great and they would be 1000x more lethal in a 64.

I can only imagine this move by the Marines is a move to get back to their traditional role of a purely amphibious force geared toward seizing and securing a limited beachhead. There’s an old saying of “if you want to conquer an island, call the Marines. If you want to conquer a continent, call the Army”.

I’ve always thought of the USMC as the hammer of the US military. If you need something taken, call the Marine Corps, when you want to occupy that position, call the Army after the Marines have taken it.

Furthermore, shrinking the USMC back to its traditional role for the time being seems wise. I don’t think we were ever supposed to be armored. We were always an infantry branch first and foremost.

The USMC’s purpose is shock, we’re this country’s original special forces. Treat them as such.

The preparation for going toe-to-toe with the most populous nation on the planet is "fewer Marine"?

I don't buy it.

Yeah I bet they would. Get the job done though in the aircraft we have. The whiskey was a huge success in DS/OIF/OEF. The upgrades with bell should've been thought through better and they should've went with sikorsky. The Yankee had its issues but kinks got worked out faster than the Z.
