We won't need armor battalions in a face off with China?
We'll certainly be armed, just not with tanks. I’m sure people thought the same thing when we retired battleships, we will be woefully ill prepared and won’t ever win another war again without them. When in reality the technology and battlefield were changing and the military had the foresight to divert resources instead of plowing them into an outdated technology simply because it’s what we knew and had in the past.

I’ve always thought of the USMC as the hammer of the US military. If you need something taken, call the Marine Corps, when you want to occupy that position, call the Army after the Marines have taken it.
Here’s the ORBAT...
USMC littoral combat operations
Army XVIIIth ABN does airfield seizures and holds ground until...
Army III Corps wins the fight

I can only imagine this move by the Marines is a move to get back to their traditional role of a purely amphibious force geared toward seizing and securing a limited beachhead. There’s an old saying of “if you want to conquer an island, call the Marines. If you want to conquer a continent, call the Army”.
Which is weird taking 367 from Hawaii. I've heard it's not comparable training environment though like Pendleton and southern California/AZ.

The whiskey was a huge success in DS/OIF/OEF.
The USMC was in RC-S during OEF Atleast that I was aware of. The aircraft wasn’t up to the task of the heavy fighting in RC-E that we had in the 64.

...but they still get to keep their crayons
shite, with all the money they save from not buying tanks, they're gonna be able to give each Marine one of those 128 count boxes with the built in sharpener.

Been there, done that. I was part of the Phantom Corps in 1st CAV at Ft. Hood for half of my 20+ year gig as an tanker.

Youre a clown. You've been trash talking like Army aviation is so good. shite your mechanics don't even do basic maintenance ex. C-sump on T700. I almost took blade shrapnel when a 60 pilot backed into an A frame during a cas at TQ.

In the Army Attack and air assault are completely separate.

They'll just eat them all, so best just to save money on the sharpeners

Not sure who downvoted you, but you're absolutely correct.
The next war will be largely a Cyber war.

I see nothing wrong with these changes.

Na China has Russia and n Korea on their side. World war 3 would break out. Plus china and US do a lot of business together so can't see it happening

That has not as much to do with it as you like to think.
