Where on the float?
That makes a difference. If you're up top on a 2 story float you'll be throwing overhand and will get tired more quickly. If you're down in the well you'll basically be throwing shovel passes, in which case you can throw nonstop for 6 hours and feel completely normal the next day*.
* I was in my 20s. YMMV.

I don't have my position yet. That is a really great point as well. Thanks

I'm thinking of going with 10-12 Gross..
What size? Because it matters. Smaller beads either need to thrown by the dozen or not at all. I wouldn't go with anything under 48" x 8mm

and wear your safety glasses because a ton of stuff will get thrown back at you if it's a night parade.

I feel like 50 gross is kind of a minimum for that route. 10-12 gross you will be doing a lot of waving.

I also have about 120 stuffed animals, 100 cups, 80 footballs, and will buy specialty beads soon.
I'd double the cups. If it's a night parade, get blinky things.

6 - 20 Dozen Case 42" 7mm 6 Color Beads, 3 - 25 Dozen Case 48" 7mm PGG Beads, 1 - 10 Dozen Case 48" 10mm PGG
It's the plush appeal $325 throw package. I'm going to grab more stuffed items and footballs too.

Pro Tip - Dare your float mate to guzzle a 16 oz bottle filled with Everclear in the staging area. You will be able to throw their beads after the turn onto St Charles.

I caught some of these a few years ago and treasure them.

forgot to mention check out Rhode Island Novelty for some plush throws. If your float has a certain theme you can probably find some related throws.
It's all pretty cheap. Last rideable season I made a big order and a bunch of riders and I split it.
I stopped spending a ton of money on throws a long time ago. People just dont want to carry it around anymore to their cars or whatever, they're just out to enjoy the parade.

7/33 bead. Get at least 30 gross. Anything smaller will be thrown back at you.

More stuffed footballs, blasting people a few rows deep is the best part

I used to ride in Thoth. Throwing footballs to people sitting on porches and hanging out house windows was a lot of fun.
As others have mentioned in regards to beads, only throw bags of a dozen if you are going to choose small cheap ones.cups and small stuffed animals is what they want.
Little bouncy balls are a lot of fun to throw as well.

Y'all got some more folks riding this year? 2020 was a meager showing from a rider stand point.
