fricking lawyers. The guy gets caught red handed telling lies to judges multiple times and they are arguing over how many months to suspend him. Months. This frick should be permanently disbarred. As for this case, I don’t believe the shooters story because it is too perfect. This angel was holding his baby, protecting the rest of his family, took a blow to the face from a pipe wrench and then calmly put two into the guy while avoiding an angry mob set on killing him. Riggghhhttt. I might believe one or two of those things but not the whole. Does it occur to anyone that the story is a textbook self defense case. Almost like one a less than honest attorney might help concoct?

Similar story.
I knew a guy who played football for John Curtis. Dude went to rob him. Hit him in head with a pipe.
Didn't knock him out. He wound up beating the guy so bad he died. Since he stomped his head in he got ten years for manslaughter. I thought it should have been justified.

Lots of CCL holders carry guns on the parade routes. If it’s not needed, nobody knows differently but if you get robbed going back to your car well...

The article doesn't say he was square solid struck. If he saw it coming and was protecting his child and moving away, it could have been a glance hit.

The fact that Lon Burns still has a license to practice law should offend every attorney in this state and should highlight how big of a joke the ODC is

This is my thought as well. I doubt it happened exactly like he says...but he (and likely his lawyer) have sure put forth a great story. If nobody is willing to talk and there is no video...I think he walks.
