re: Mardi Gras shooter turns self in...this is going to be an interesting one on Tulane/Broad

How much more do the people defending him if his version is true have to do? I don't recall seeing anything derogatory about his race being mentioned, yet somebody still had to be "offended." Is there no way of making you happy on this subject?

Go hang around stupid people expect stupid things

This guy's first problem is he has a gun on a parade route. Even if the shooting is somehow considered justified, he's still has a gun on a parade route, which is illegal.

So a scuffle breaks out, he's holding his kid, he gets hit in the head with a pipe wrench, still holding kid, then with his free hand pulls out his piece and drops two in a guy who is charging at his mom?

This guy's history is going to come into play, along with witness accounts. Also, was the gun legally purchased? Does he have any priors to prevent gun ownership?

Parents should be able to bring their kids to parades. It’s already been agreed on that he illegally brought the gun there, but it’s understandable.

Yeah, but doing that and carrying a gun while holding your baby at a Mardi Gras parade are two different things. Some things are just not good ideas.

Also, this guy was just arrested last month for illegal carrying of a weapon. Not good for him.

Hasn't posted bail yet. Can't find that it's even been set. DA doesn't believe his story.

RUSTON, La. (KNOE) - On Friday, Eddie Dingle was arrested on second-degree murder charges. He is currently booked into the Orleans Parish Jail. Previous Report: On Wednesday, New Orleans Police Department sent out a press release asking for the public's help to locate Eddie Dingle. According to the release, Dingle is wanted in a fatal shooting that took place on Tuesday in New Orleans. Thursday morning, Louisiana Tech University officials told KNOE Dingle was a current student. Executive Communication Director, Tonya Oaks Smith said they are "committed to protecting our students, staff, and faculty and are taking the appropriate steps to ensure their well-being," Police say the shooting happened during the Mardi Gras parade. They say it happened in the 2400 block of St. Charles Avenue, where the alleged suspect and victim got into an altercation. The suspect then fired shots. Reports say the victim died at the hospital. Tech students are still in shock from hearing that the suspect is a fellow classmate: "I wouldn't consider him a bad person, but after this, I wouldn't consider him a good person either." "Very childish, you know, class clownish type of guy, but for the most part he was a nice guy and very caring." "You can never think that your fellow classmate would be a serial killer, he's not a serial killer, but close enough.
