There are numerous other examples, but his description/memories of watching the sun rise over the horizon during early morning seal workouts on the WEST coast were hard to believe, unless the sun decided to rise in reverse on the days he recalled.

There's a bay over there as well, not just the Pacific.

I know one of the Shreveport SEALS......if Marcus did the deal and earned that SEAL badge, he ain't full of shite. Those guys are the real deal.

My Dad was regular Army......did his thing through '66......went back at 30 years old and became a Ranger then a Special Forces spot. He's a retired Green Beret.

He's a grocery store butcher these days, but don't frick with him....

Of all of the things people question about Lone Survivor his training stories aren't one of them.

Thank you for your service.

I watched that video, and that looks like a guy that is both a little uncomfortable with his fame/situation and is overcome a bit by emotion and how awesome the rescue was.

I would respect you more if you told him yourself, what you said on this thread. Have at it, hero.

Ugh I cant stand this mindset

If ever met in person he should respect the service of the man in uniform

Questioning his stories on a message board shouldnt be off limits simply because he served

For the record, there is an officer Ranger who headed up Operation RedWing way before Luttrell and his team were involved. I listened to his interview on a podcast talking about all the intel they had on the HVT that Luttrell’s team went to recon.

The Ranger said Luttrell was full of shite. That they were ambushed by some legit Taliban (only 7-9 warriors) and weren’t prepared. Said when they rescued Luttrell he had 12 or so full magazines still on him and they couldn’t find any spent casings in the area of said fire fight.

I’m not calling Marcus out on that at all bc I think he is a hero for serving our country but I do believe his story has been embellished.

Edit: since some of you goons want to downvote me, here’s an article from SOFREP tearing his credibility apart. LINK

I know a GB with a landscape architecture degree. Walked away from a six figure practice to go back in the army, graduated the Q Course at 42. He was happy to be back in uniform. His wife and kids, not so much. Soft spoken, average looking guy with a full head of gray hair, but can run all night and all day.

He told me several years ago Re AFG, "we're killing and stacking them like cordwood, but when we leave, nothing will have changed."

I'm not sure there is anything that's off limits with most message board commandos. Hell, on the OT alone I've seen folks mock child abuse, murder, rape, etc. Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.

What about the rape and murder of a child abuser?

Between this thread and the Zea's thread on the food board, I really want some Thai ribs.

Having known a few GB’s, including one that went on to Delta , your description fits most of them to a “T”.
Low key, quiet and unassuming.... most would never have a clue who they were in the presence of
;)

Plus he wrote a book and all. If you publish a book you're opening yourself up for questions.
