Coronado Island has the sun rise over the bay, as does Santa Rosa Island, Catalina Island, San Clemente, etc.
I suspect he meant Point Loma / Cabrillo. Well known for SEALS and seals. Look up Point Loma, you'll educate yourself.

SEALS and seals
If the real animal seals are out there, then so are the Great Whites! Interesting.

No need to feel that way, he is full of shite. Don’t let the OT discourage your assessment, most posters think all navy seals are God tier based on media hype. The truth is, there is a percentage of seals who are duds, Luttrell is one of them.

A quick search on Amazon will turn up dozens in not hundreds of books written by former Delta Force. SEALs didn't start the soldier as author genre, and the SF operators of the other service branches have cranked out just as many if not more books.

ahhh understood! yeah im pretty sure NG doesn't have a max age limit. sounds like a solid guy!
Big Army doesn't have one either. That 30 year cutoff is only for the 18X program.

Gulab says Lone Survivor Got it Wrong
Hadn't read this til just now, but I guess my suspicions aren't totally unsubstantiated.

I know and have worked with a lot of of them. They have big mouths.

I've only really known one SEAL and he worked "this one time at BUDS" into the first five minutes of conversation.

Yeah, they can't fricking wait to talk about that shite.

Their parents probably have bumper stickers that say "Proud parent of a US Navy SEAL" next to the honor roll sticker.

There are numerous other examples, but his description/memories of watching the sun rise over the horizon during early morning seal workouts on the WEST coast were hard to believe, unless the sun decided to rise in reverse on the days he recalled.
Well, in fairness, it does sort of rise over the bay if you're looking east towards San Diego.

Where would you like me to begin? I’ve been on multiple joint missions with SEAL team platoons, squads, and just individuals. Some were great, many didn’t know the basics of an L shaped ambush. Not all organizations are created equal in the SOF community, they’re tiered, and then there are sub-tiers. While Special Delivery Vehicle Teams are highly skilled, Luttrell’s team was not high on the food chain. Same goes for SF groups, 1st group is generally at the bottom of the food chain, while 7th, 5th, and 3rd are at the top. None of them are tier 1 units, which is what OT posters think of when they think SEAL and Special Forces.
I frick around on here but I hold no reservations about my time in the service. There is also a poster who served in one of the SF groups a long time ago, I forget his handle.

So, he made it through BUDs and the other schools but is a dud? Were you a team member or did you just work with them? I appreciate your service but to call someone a dud seems a bit nuts.

I’m shocked at all you jackoff artiste , critize a true hero. If any of you cocksuckers have been true what he went thru, then you have a right to critize , until them, keep jacking

I enjoyed the interview. I don’t care if he was on any type of medication or drug. He gave some cool insight and seemed genuine.
I appreciate his service.

Started conventional then served with 3/75 Ranger Regiment and then went to a different tiered unit. I was not a SEAL. You have to understand that just because someone wasn’t a SEAL team member doesn’t mean they aren’t qualified to give their assessment. The SOF community is small.

meh. It’s relative and depends on what your expectations are. Yea someone who sits on a couch everyday and their only adversity in life has been the Internet going out probably will think my statement is nuts. (Not saying that’s you, just making a point that it’s a relative statement).
Even if you don’t believe he was a dud, that doesn’t mean you should believe someone just because they were a SEAL or an operator of any kind, it’s very shallow to strongly defend someone you don’t know just because of their title. People lie.

So what made Luttrel a dud? I have no military experience so I really have no clue.
