Dude seems like he is still dealing with some PTSD issues.

I can appreciate that but anyone that makes any team is head shoulders above the average. Some are better than others but to call an operator a dud seems crazy to me. No, I don’t think they are all Rambo but you kinda off as jealous.

If the guy really was a Ranger, I think he has more room to criticize than the rest of us. Rangers are pretty badass, too.

I've watched a bunch of his interviews and his long motivational speeches to the public, etc. And he just doesn't seem like he is telling the truth about alot of stuff and does it for the notarity.
We idolize college and professional players, but it’s not okay for these guys to get any publicity and speak about their experiences.
Our country is so fricked. Do people think that these guys go through BUDS and the rest of seal training in order to write a fricking book

Not questioning your experience, but several people lost there lives on that mission. It seems a little dismissive of you to call him a liar. I don't claim to know exactly what happened on the mountain but it couldn't have been good.

"A navy seal makes a kill and writes a book, Delta force makes a kill and takes a nap"
An acquaintance of mine is a Delta operator (now recently retired). He never talks about it hardly at all, but I do know he was involved personally in the hunt for OBL. He now trains Green Berets up at Fort Bragg. I've learned more about what he does from his parents than him. His dad used to keep me informed on where he was (but his dad never knew any real details).
But, yeah, SEALS seem to love to talk. You don't hear much from the Delta guys even though their mission is almost identical to SEAL Team 6.

He was years ago, in a bad way. As I recall he had a therapy dog and someone killed it (intentionally) and it really fricked him up. My dad hired him to speak to his company not long after the book launched, and I think his impression was that it was way too soon for him to be on the speaking circuit and that he was reliving the operation every time he spoke about it. Just didn't seem healthy for him to constantly be replaying it.
Seemed to be doing better for a while when he got married, etc.

He is. Did you hear the story a couple years ago about his dog? He got a service dog as a gift from the Navy. Some dudes came by his neighborhood randomly and shot his dog one night.
He jumped up, grabbed his gun and went into combat mode. He went outside, saw them driving away, got in his car and had a high speed chase with them.
Luckily he came to his senses and called the cops while he was involved in the chase. Cops talked him out of killing the dudes. lol

Nah, basic bitch recon.
How hard has the recon community been hit since MarSOC stood up?

I know a navy seal from my hometown that became a night stalker. Hw would not say a word about anything he did even to his sister. Just said you have to ready to die on a regular basis.
Kind of strange to be around a guy like that and small talk with him.

There was a definite shift, but they aren't that big and the CSOs are few. They had no shortage of volunteers when I was still in and neither did we. Plenty of good Marines for everyone.

Okay....who are they and why are they relevant to my statement?
Posted on 7/11/18 at 9:24 pm to DeafJam73
They're Rangers and they're relevant because Rangers are pussies.
Posted on 7/11/18 at 9:30 pm to DisplacedBuckeye
They aren't Rangers, unless they've been through RASP and spent time in the 75th. Ranger school is a combat leadership course.

You can actually enlist now to be an 0321 but it's a 5 year contract and you get the dreaded "needs of the Marine Corps" if you fail or get hurt.
