Thank you for your service.
I watched that video, and that looks like a guy that is both a little uncomfortable with his fame/situation and is overcome a bit by emotion and how awesome the rescue was.
I would respect you more if you told him yourself, what you said on this thread. Have at it, hero.
Take his dick out of your mouth.
NATide didn't disrespect him at all. He simply said he isn't sold on the story. Just because he served doesn't mean he's infallible.
Some of you are retards.

I just watched the video. They tried to get him to hype his capture and rescue and instead, on tv with millions of viewers, he didn’t say a thing about his experience and instead built up the kids and the coach for what they went through and how tough a situation it was. He did everything to build up those kids and coach and rescue team and completely kept his experiences out of the mix.
If thats not humble and giving credit to where it’s due than I don’t know what is. Guy’s ok in my book.

I never said otherwise.

You would think my Dad was always the friendly grocer man.
When asked about his service, he'd say I was a cook.
He can still most likely whip my arse, and buy me a beer afterwards...

you're an idiot, those guys are wired a completely different way, i mean he talks about falling asleep underwater as well as Eating. They're programmed a way that we cant even fathom.

I know a GB with a landscape architecture degree. Walked away from a six figure practice to go back in the army, graduated the Q Course at 42.

Out of curiosity, how so?
Chris Kyle and Jesse Ventura haven't done them any favors, that's for sure.

That limit only applies to the 18X program.

This would have been about 2004. He was a Grenada Ranger and had stayed in the reserves. He's full time with one of the National Guard SF Groups. As you probably know, slightly different rules apply to them. He should be getting ready to retire about now.
His main claim to fame is having his picture in the NYT during a firefight at the Kabul embassy.

I think some of the Chris Kyle tall tales, coupled with the fact so many Navy seals are all over the public, alot of people are taking some of what they say with a grain of salt
How do you pick out a SEAL at the bar?

There are numerous other examples, but his description/memories of watching the sun rise over the horizon during early morning seal workouts on the WEST coast were hard to believe, unless the sun decided to rise in reverse on the days he recalled.
And Coronado is an island.

Not a bad joke but honestly as it’s been mentioned I’d say a strong 80-90% of those guys won’t voluntarily tell you they are Special Forces. A close family friend just retired and I’ve never heard him tell anyone and I’ve been around him quite a bit. Even now he just says retired military and if probed further he will say Navy. That’s it.

But his stories have been validated via timeline, geography, medically and from his hosts.
I have met him twice. He is a horrible speaker but 1on 1 he is a down to earth dude

I know quite a few non-military divers who do both these things. When you're underwater for 6+ hours at a time you figure it out.

Not saying he isn’t a hero, but to say his stories have been supported isn’t exactly true

Well it's a good that someone who was in the Navy doesn't claim to be a Green Beret.
