You should sue him for hurting your feelings with his big mean Facebook post.

While it was in response to shooting the arrest & post were referencing a school shooting which the sheriff ignorantly decided was a threat or could be seen as threat against a local school with the same name.
I don’t think that makes situation better as school threat angle likely isn’t used for any non-Kirk post, and in fact it’s probably worse to see a law about a school threat be manipulated like that.
But I don’t agree with others trying to lump this bad arrest in with those who lost jobs or had posts censored by private companies for actually cheering Kirk’s murder due to politics and creating threats against others with same views by calling for more to get the same as Kirk.

The meme that led to his arrest featured an image of President Donald Trump alongside the words, "We have to get over it," captioned with, "This seems relevant today..." The meme explained that the quote was originally said by Trump in 2024, following a school shooting at Perry High School in Iowa.
However, the arrest warrant was based on the "absurd notion" that the meme could be interpreted as a threat against Perry County High School in Tennessee, FIRE said.
Furthermore, the organization noted that Bushart did not create or alter the meme.
Weems told news outlets that the meme did not actually lead investigators to believe there was a real threat. However, he stated that the case hinged on how some people could potentially interpret it as a threat to a local school.

You were unaware of the bail amount or mixed the use of bail and bond up, one of those is true.
he definitely assumed his bail was like 50k

Happy for him. Nothing will make you feel more helpless than being attacked by your own government.
Hope to see more of this for the J6 political prisoners.

At least one can see through SDV's absurdism. He's not as good at it as he could/should be (a la @Mr. Perfect) but he's still clearly in it for the memes and laughs. I just wish he'd apply himself better.
NC is a true believer.

Seems pretty mild for the repercussions. Hope it was worth it for the PF

Why is this guy a POS again?
To be fair the guy does seem a little like a piece of shite for trying to minimize Kirk’s murder and the outrage over it while still raw (some possible TDS in doing this as well), but being a piece of shite doesn’t mean that he should have been arrested for a post the Sheriff deemed could be taken as a threat against a local school with the same name as the school in his post/meme that was from another state and involved in a school shooting.
I am not sure how the judge/magistrate and prosecutor are not caught up in this unless the sheriff just pushed completely fraudulent evidence or description of actions being charged for. Seems like both rubber stamped charge and level of bail as a school threat which based on article isn’t remotely close to being the case or even close to being mistaken for a threat by others (have never actually seen the actual meme or post and only going by article’s description of the post).

He's a piece of shite for reposting a meme of Trump telling people to get over a mass shooting a day later? Because some podcaster died?
Why aren't any of you calling the Sheriff who imprisoned a guy for 37 days for posting a Trump quote a piece of shite?
Go ahead. I'll wait.

This place is a cesspool. Some of you would rather root around in shite and piss just because Trump is in office without acknowledging he has emboldened people with position to shite on you.

outrageous that he was arrested in the first place. The men responsible for that should be fired. They derailed a man’s life and liberty and cost the taxpayers big money
Yeah, maybe, maybe not.
I get the distinct feeling that there's some significant portion of the story that is missing from this narrative.
