He snuck into a house to commit a crime (17 year old screwing with a 14 year old) and then kills the homeowner, but still avoids any jail time? I lose faith in the justice system more and more with these kinds of stories.

I’d bet if you dug into that judge’s social media or past campaigns, you’d probably find some references to restorative justice.

I’d bet if this case involved a white 17 year old boy killing the father of a 14 year old girl he was there to screw, the kid would have a life sentence.

Wrong, most states the age of consent is 17. They have some states you can have sex with a 16 year old legally. None are 14. This pos broke in or was in the victims house trying to be with his minor daughter to commit a sex crime, and gets murdered for it.

Louisiana is a backwards inbred state with draconian consent laws. Most states the age of consent is 16, 29 states in fact, and many states have “close in age” protections that make it perfectly legal for 14 year olds to consent to sex with 15,16, and 17 year olds.

Most states that aren’t run by idiots realize this entire group of people, 14-17, are socially bonded by the government.

Imagine if the kid were 17 years and 360 days old. Probation is fine here but if the guy waited a week, then we could completely flip the script and book him 25 to life without it being an issue?

So they are also fond of killing the father, leaving out the B&E, so you want a 17 year old breaking into your daughters room and killing you, sorry if I miss interpreted your post.

Judge Gregg should be removed from the bench. This is inexcusible.

I don't know if it makes a difference, but both were shot with one dying and the other was in critical condition. I don't see how long he was hospitalized or when he got released. But he might be permanently disabled or limited in some way. Maybe his injuries factored into the decision..

Don’t get me wrong, if I’m the dad I would try and kick that kids arse and or shot him. I’d probably get shot also.

So if a 17 having relations with a 14 year old is legal and she invited him in, he wasn’t breaking and entering and not committing a crime. Dad probably thought it was an intruder and pulled on kid. Dad hesitated, kid didn’t…. Dead dad. I can see how legally the 17 year old isn’t facing heavier charges

I saw this floating around FB, translated from the vernacular by Grok.

quote:

For the past four years, I have remained silent to avoid engaging with negative commentary, trusting that when God supports you, no weapon used against you will succeed. I am indifferent to others' opinions. For those unaware, my son, Nicholas Mcquirter Jr., is a 21-year-old who is a good person, has never been in trouble, loves attending church, was in 11th grade at Zachary High School, and is a friendly, loving, and respectful young man. Diamond was his first and only girlfriend.

On July 18, 2021, a deeply painful morning affected many people, including myself, and I will never forget it. I acknowledge that my son was wrong for entering Dez’s house without permission, but two wrongs do not make a right. Many of you may not know that Dez was acquainted with Nicholas. Nicholas was 17, and Diamond was 15. Dez and Diamond’s mother permitted their relationship for four years until the children skipped school together. Dez found something on Diamond’s phone and requested that Nicholas stop seeing her. We spoke to Nicholas, but it was challenging to keep them apart when Diamond’s mother continued to allow their contact behind Dez’s back. The children would spend time together on FaceTime. Nicholas had eaten at Dez’s table with his family and joined them on family outings.

The shooting should not have occurred. The night before, Dez drove Nicholas home to our residence in the Settlement Subdivision on Rollins Road in Zachary. He parked in my driveway, in front of my car garage, as captured on my camera, and spoke with Nicholas for an entire hour. I saw the black truck, went outside to investigate, and Dez explained he was giving Nicholas a ride home because it was dark, and Nicholas was walking.

The next morning, around 8:30 AM, I received a call from a friend asking if Nicholas was home. I confirmed he was, then inquired why. He informed me that Dez had found a boy in his house and shot him, and the boy shot back. I checked Nicholas’s room, but his brother said Diamond had called Nicholas at 2:30 AM and asked him to come over. I rushed outside, got in my car, and learned that Nicholas had been held against his will from 3:00 AM to 8:00 AM. When Dez was informed Nicholas was in his house, he knew who Nicholas was. Diamond stated that her father knocked on her bedroom door, she let him in, and he found Nicholas in the closet, holding him at gunpoint. Dez said, “I’m going to show you for disrespecting me today.” He then contacted Diamond’s mother and grandmother, who arrived and physically assaulted both Diamond and Nicholas. Dez struck Nicholas in the mouth with his gun and hit him several times. Nicholas requested to call home and be released, but they refused, and no one contacted the police. They took matters into their own hands.

Nicholas attempted to escape through the back door, and Dez fired four shots: one hit the kitchen counter where Nicholas was seated, two struck the back door casing, and one hit Nicholas in the back, paralyzing him as he tried to exit through the kitchen. Nicholas shot Dez once in the chest, resulting in Dez’s death. Nicholas underwent two surgeries, spent 45 days in the hospital, 20 days in inpatient rehabilitation, and a year in physical therapy to regain his ability to walk.

Nicholas was not the only one at fault. Dez was 35, and Nicholas was 17. The juvenile court found no probable cause, as Nicholas did not enter Dez’s house with a gun, no one saw him with one, and he did not break in—he was let in by his girlfriend, Diamond. For those sharing the story, I ask that you present the full truth. At the time, I was too focused on supporting Nicholas to engage with online commentary. I saw various posts about him but chose not to respond. Instead, I entrusted Nicholas to God’s care while I sought legal representation. His father and I paid for a strong defense, knowing the challenges young Black men face in the legal system. Those who know me understand my dedication to my children and their loyalty to me. I have made mistakes in the past, including time in jail, but I matured to raise my children to avoid my path. Nicholas comes from a loving family, was raised in the church, and is well-mannered.

Nicholas accepted a lesser charge in the 19th Judicial District Court to receive probation, as he had already overcome the original charge four years ago. However, the issue resurfaced when he turned 20. He avoided a trial, as it was in his best interest, given the unpredictability of connections within the system. I am sharing this to clarify who Nicholas’s mother is: my name is Amy Cain, and I stand firmly by my family.

I don’t know anything about this story, but if he didn’t enter with a gun how did he shoot a man after being shot and paralyzed? Sorry if it’s explained in another article, but that part from your quote is odd.

I been holding my peace for 4 years not to entertain all the negative bs cause when God is for you no weapon man uses against you will prosper. I don't care what others think. To all that don't know Nicholas Mcquirter Jr. Is my 21 year old son who is a gd kid never been in trouble love church was in the 11th grade at Zachary high and a very friendly loving respectable kid and Diamond was his first and only girlfriend. On July 18 2021, was a very hurtful morning to a lot of people including myself I will never forget it. I admit my son was wrong for going into Dez house without his permission but two wrong don't make a rite. A lot of you don't know the real Dez knew Nick. Nick was 17 and Diamond was 15. Dez and Diamond mother allowed them to date for 4 years until the kids skipped school together and he found whatever in her phone and asked to make Nick stop seeing her we talked to Nick but how could I keep him away from her when her mother kept allowing it behind Dez back the kids would sleep on FaceTime together. Nick have ate at Dez table with his family been on family dates with them. This shooting should not have happened the night before the shooting Dez brought Nick home to my house in the settlement subdivision on Rollins Rd in Zachary and pulled up in my driveway in front of my car garage on my camera and talked to him for a whole hour I seen the black truck and went outside to see what was going on and he said he was just giving him a ride home cause it was dark and Nick was walking home. The next morning Abt 8:30 I got a call from a friend guy asking if Nick was home I said yes then I asked why he said Dez just found a boy In his house and shot him and the boy shot him back. I went to check to see if Nick was in bed but his brother said Dimond call Nick @ 2:30 a.m and told him to come over I ran outside jump in my car to find Nick had been held hostage from 3:00a.m to 8:00 a.m when Dez got the call Nick was in his house he knew who he was Dimond said her dad knocked on her room door she let him in and her dad got Nick out the closet at gun point and said I'm going to show you mf for playing with me today Dez then called Dimond mother and grandmother they showed up and beat Dimond and Nick Dez hit Nick in the mouth with his gun and hit him a few times Nick ask to call home and to let him go but they didn't no one called the police. They took matters in their own hands Nick ran for the back door and Dez shot at him 4 times 1 in the kitchen counter where Dez sat him at 2 in the back door casing and 1 in his back that paralyzed him in the kitchen trying to get out the back door Nick shot Dez 1 time in the chest where he died Nick had 2 surgeries before we found him he spent 45 days in the hospital and went to inpatient rehabilitation for 20 days then to physical therapy for a year to walk again. Nick was not the only one wrong in this situation Dez was 35 and Nick was 17 Juvenile court ruled no probable cause because Nick did not enter Dez house with a gun no one seen him with one nor did he break in he was let in by his girlfriend Dimond so if you gone tell the story let put this shite out in the open for the world that don't know Back then when it happened I didn't have time to post are entertain the bullshite I had to focus on him I seen all kinda of post about him but I didn't comment on any of you bitches post instead the next morning I left him in God's hands while I went lawyer hunting then me and his father dropped that bag cause I know been a young black male the system will frick you and if you know me you know how I'm coming behind my kids and how they coming behind me you know I've done everything under the sun jail never was afraid of it but I grew up and got the frick to raise my kids not to follow my footsteps so yes Nick has a great family is very loved and he was raised properly in church nick only took a lesser charge in 19th JDC to get probation because he beat the charge 4 years ago but you bitches brought it back when he made 20 he didn't go to trial cause it was in his best interest cause you never know who knows who and the reason I made this post everyone wants to know who his Mother mother is her name is Amy Cain bitch and I stand on business behind mine

if this is true, the probation thing is understandable to me.

Are you saying that Louisiana doesn’t have a close in age clause that close in age still a crime but not a Felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile?

Not directly from state website for Felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile, so it might have changed.
