Ward’s girlfriend reportedly told officers they bought Winston at a reptile exhibition in Denver in October and Potato from a breeder in Arizona in November, according to the animal control officer’s report. Told that Gila monsters were illegal in Lakewood, the woman told officers she wanted them out of her house as soon as possible, the report said. Officers working with the Colorado Department of Natural Resources sent the lizards to Reptile Gardens outside Rapid City, South Dakota. Twenty-six spiders of different species also were taken from the home to a nearby animal shelter.

Took, the spiders to an animal shelter…WTF

People who own any reptiles are pure trash. Can't imagine what the inside of their homes look like.

Bearded Dragons actually have venom too, but they say it’s in such a small amount that at most it would just cause an itch similar to a mosquito bite.

That’s exactly what the Colorado man said about his Gila Monster.

Mine is pretty clean and spotless. Always picking up after ourselves, cleaning, and making sure our house looks nice in case we have guests. Lawn looks really good too.

I'm all for personal freedoms, but there should be a list of animals that people are not allowed to own. Venomous snakes, big cats, Gila Monsters, etc.

Gila Monsters are different than Bearded Dragons. Probably more venom, painful bites. I wouldn’t let my kid have one just because they obviously bite and the bite is painful.

That being said, the last person to die from a Gila bite was almost a century (1-0-0 y e a r s) ago. Seems like someone just had a weak immune system or something. Mosquitos are more of a threat to humans than Gilas are.

Probably just a side effect of the clot shot. The "vax" claims another victim.

I’ve seen the movie Holes. Should’ve known yellow spotted lizards are deadly.
