Fran telling all the Bama players to “hold the rope” and not transfer when they could’ve transferred without penalty, and then leaving without telling his players goodbye. Ended up not working out for him too well.

Have Oklahoma standards dropped to where 5-2 in conference with no chance for the conference championship game is success worth bragging about? I thought you guys had a championship mentality.

You guys are 7-8 in the SEC so far. Killing it!
Alabama went undefeated that season and won the Rose Bowl and we don’t even claim that title over Army
Yes. A home game against a team ranked 9-12 is better than playing Georgia or Alabama in Atlanta (where a loss possibly puts you in the first round of the playoff anyway).

Plus, losing to Texas allows them to rest their players against Texas as well. So, they could take it easy this week, take the sec championship off, then host a mediocre team in the first round rested and ready to go with a hype home crowd. Or, they could try to beat Texas and then Georgia/Alabama back to back.

Alabama beat 3 of those teams and they’re still in the top half
I remember that game well. As a scout teamer, I played Teddy Lehman’s role all week. He was a good linebacker.

The fake punt was indeed the decisive play.

That Alabama team had more talent than you give it credit for. Britt, Croyle, Harper, Odom, Ryans, Smiley, Peprah, Mathis, Shaud Williams.

SEC championship calculator

Here you go. You can enter in different scenarios and see who makes the championship game. If A&M loses they are out based on their weaker schedule. Alabama loses one and they are most likely in (although it’s close enough between them and Georgia and Ole Miss that they could be left out).

This gives Vandy a 73% chance of making it if they win out, which sounds about right to me.

Vanderbilt’s playoff path

Posted by Decker on 11/11/25 at 6:48 pm
Vanderbilt is currently 14th in the CFP ranking and needs to get to 10th to allow for a lower ranked ACC champ and a group of five champ to make it in the last 2 spots. Vandy needs at least four teams in front of them to lose, preferably teams on the bubble. Here are the teams ahead of Vandy and their remaining opponents:

8. Oregon - USC, Washington
9. Notre Dame - Pitt, Syracuse, Stanford
10. Texas - Georgia, Arkansas, TAMU
11. Oklahoma - Alabama, Missouri, LSU
12. BYU - TCU, Cincinnati, UCF
13. Utah - Baylor, K State, Kansas

I think Texas, Oklahoma, BYU, and Utah will most likely drop at least one game each. I’m not sure if Vandy will jump Oregon or Notre Dame, even if those teams drop a game.

If Vandy wins out, I predict they end up 10th and make the CFP. Should be an exciting finish!

We likely make it even with a loss based on tiebreakers
I was responding to your troll attempt by pointing out that we still beat you guys despite having a disappointing season. Nothing more, nothing less. It’s obviously a sensitive topic for you.

Vandy needs to win and have as much chaos as possible

re: Who wins, Texas or Georgia?

If Georgia doesn’t win by double digits I’ll be extremely surprised
It was a down year for sure. Georgia must’ve kicked our butts.
That’s actually incredibly impressive on Tennessee’s part. I wouldn’t have guessed.
Preseason top 10, a QB among the Heisman favorites and a potential number 1 pick, and the winningest current coach in college football. After a week 1 victory, they received first place votes in the next two AP polls.

Now, they’ve lost their season, lost their coach, and turned on their QB.

An analogous season at Alabama might be 2000 - from preseason top 5 with a Heisman candidate in Milons to a losing season and a fired coach. We know what came next for Alabama - Fran and Mike Shula (with Price squeezed in there). What comes next for LSU?
I think he’s trying to say that LSU has cause to cancel Nuss’s NIL deal and save some money for the Kelly buyout
