Probably true. I mean look at this guy...wasn't living his life in fear, going about his business picking up his kid at daycare.
It's kinda like, you're never a victim and the "city isn't that bad" until you are a victim and it's too late.

So he had words with a crew took some pot shots ran carjacked the guy with a kid in it killed the guy and then they found him dead in the guy’s carr???
who shot him in the head and where’s the kid???
That's the way I'm reading it, though I don't think the kid was in the car. I assume whoever initially shot at this guy eventually caught up with him.

Was he shot before or after the carjacking?

After.
The reason he carjacked the guy was to get away from the people shooting at him.
That said the journalism is terrible (not surprised).

Don’t think that has been explained. I’ve seen suggestions that he exchanged fire with the father he killed. But that may be wrong.

Not sure how I feel about this. He definitely deserves to die and him dying now would eliminate any possibility of him ever getting out of prison, not to mention the taxpayer money wasted on housing him as an inmate for years of judicial process, appeals, etc. But part of me feels like he is getting off easy and he needs to suffer a little more.
Judging from his previous slaps on the wrist, I doubt he is/was going to suffer via jail time.

suspect in grave condition
I've always thought "grave condition" should mean dead. We overcomplicate the English language.

Damn, being hunted picking up kids at daycare.
At least the Methodist church has us.

Yeah, then you get shot at daycare.
The ones with their head on a swivel don’t.

I don’t think correct.
It’s said he was discovered doing something illegal by random citizens… that he shot wildly at them and cars in traffic (citizens cooperating with police)
Carjacked/killed the guy in the daycare parking lot a block and a half ish away - I believe before he got his kid from school
Turns up dead in the stolen car on the interstate shot in the back of the head 30 mins later. This would be a wide gap to get from the daycare to the bonabel exit so not sure if he was in the car dead for awhile or there’s some detour in between.

Why doesn’t this happen in Metairie?

Crime has been heating up in New Orleans after a relatively quiet first half of the year. I blame the Saints

About two weeks ago I got into a "discussion" with a couple of liberals about crime in New Orleans... They of course took the side of "crime is down in New Orleans"... Since then I haven't spoken to either of them and I am sure they don't want to talk to me... Both of them said they were planning on going to the French Quarter soon and were not worried about the crime....

I'm just thinking about how many times I've passed there thru the years.

The man who killed the father just got a suspended sentence and $592 fine four months ago for breaking multiple gun laws and trafficking drugs
He was also arrested and released in 2023 on a concealed weapon charge which he was on probation for when the next arrest occurred.
He was arrested in 2022 for Battery of a School teacher. He failed to appear in court several times and still received probation,
'tis always thus.
I have said before, we don't need some futuristic Tom Cruise "Minority Report" shite predicting who will commit crimes in the future. We already have it. The police know who the criminals are. They basically get arrested over and over again until they eventually commit a crime so heinous that even the incompetent and corrupt legal system cannot let them go.

No. Your shitbirds tend to come to Texas when a major one rolls through. We're still dealing with Katrina trash.

Go ahead and unplug Raymond. We don't want him around.
