There could be something about the book that he thinks is really interesting. Not sure why you can assume he is bullshitting.
His favorite movie is Friday and he is obviously a fan of rap music. That doesn't really instantly make someone a fan of the book 'Ulysses", but why would you assume he isn't?

I do remember a guy that might have been class of '96 that got shot robbing a store and came back to school. I can picture his face but can't remember the name.

This story isn't closed just yet. I refuse to believe that. The guy killed in the East was a guy named Bruce Reed, 61yrs old. That seems totally random right? Right.

Its random. It's actually Nick Robeau. He was with his mechanic friend picking up parts to fix his daughters car. Wrong place, Wrong time. The 22 year old was in his church band. I know people that know them.

Believe it. This guy was involuntarily committed twice earlier in the year. He just straight up went off his rocker and decided to start whacking people.
Sounds a lot like the guy up in Central / Zachary last year that killed several folks. That guy thought he had "human tags" (like a deer tag) from the Government and that he needed to fill them. I know someone that watched that interrogation. Said the guy was very straight up about it as if what he was saying was perfectly normal.
