Someone brought up Ukraine (and I agree with him). So I figured we'd be consistent and try to paint the full picture of how our government has always cared more about endless war and satiating defense industry greed than the good of its own citizens. Disasters like this one unfortunately make it all too clear.

Keyboard warrior that’s likely never had to actually fight for anything.

Cal Fire investigators and police made the second most arson arrests they've ever made during the 2024 fire season. If I'm not mistake the most arson arrests happened in the past couple of years.

It isn't just California, either. Arson has become a major issue in multiple states.

"We cant have 9 angry lesbians controlling the whole commission"

rotflmao: rotflmao:

Dude really went scorched earth on the coastal commission. And lets say he's right and the governor doesn't call in favors for all these rich folks to circumvent the permit process, THREE YEARS before they even start rebuilding is a lifetime for people with means. Going to be real interesting to see what the fallout from this will be.

Very interesting. I didn't consider homeless, but absolutely a great chance of this. It looked like the weather last night was lows in the low 40s most nights in the area. Makes sense that they were living out in the woods and had fires to keep warm.

After looking at the Watch Duty app; I’ve come to the conclusion that whole idea that California doesn’t do prescribed controlled burns is a myth. They have over 40 control burns going on at this moment.

The fires start for two reasons… either wind knocks down power lines and those spark, or homeless people start fires to keep warm and the extreme winds make them lose control and away we go.

All in the Northern part of the state, where no massive outbreaks are happening.

Sure that's total coincidence.

Right. Because there's zero politics at play here. Nope. None.
