Trying to figure out if I can even use the snow blower today.

Forecast shows snow till 6pm, then turning to sleep and freezing rain overnight, then snow tomorrow.

If I blow it this evening and then the ice hits, my driveway will be a ice rink. But a layer of snow then ice might not be so bad. Decisions, decisions.

Already picked up about a half-foot in North Central KY. Ice will begin in a few hours.

Time to start drinking.

Yep. Just over in Jeffersontown. Snow has slowed up a little bit. Was coming down pretty good until about 15 minutes ago.

Wait until the second layer of snow starts tomorrow. There’s likely going to be about 1/2 inch of ice with the freezing rain.

We just had this discussion in our household.

Definitely let the sleet and rain land on a layer of snow. It's easier to break the thin layer of ice on top of the snow and then shovel or blow off a dry snow than it is to deal with ice-glazed pavement! This also gives you a valid excuse for sitting inside and relaxing in the warmth of the den or living room while you watch the snow come down. You should experience no guilt with the decision to wait until tomorrow.

yeah, that is the plan. My FIL gave me a 28" thrower so I want to use it, but it does make sense to wait.

Just came in from playing again with the dogs, and I think it's nap time. Girls basketball @Vandy at 3pm, so gonna watch that while it snows more.

We are back at whiteout conditions at the moment. Would guess we have near 6" on the ground currently.

Just got a call from the school district I work for here that they’ve called it for tomorrow. Think we’re getting closer to 6 inches or so now.

Just measured 3.5 inches on my table outside. So I was a bit off

No Wintery Precip forecast for BR LA.....however 9 consecutive Low Temps in at least the 30's is an impressive streak for the Gulf South. (a couple 29's included not too bad).

Even 33 next Tuesday Jan 14th!

LINKRight now my part of east Tennessee isn't getting ice or snow. Looking at the TDOT maps, auto accidents aren't as bad as a usual Sunday. Then I checked to the north and Kentucky is one massive swath of road problems from the east all the way west to St. Louis. It looks already like one of those don't even think about driving through it events.

It's 80 degrees in BR currently. That's a poor excuse for winter.
