Sleet/Freezing rain starting up here in Louisville. Hoping it’s not as bad as predicted because it transitioned over later.

Snow has slowed a lot here. Probably 7 inches. Freezing rain starting in less than an hour, and lasting for 12 hours, then back to snow tomorrow morning.

It’s getting heavier here. Supposed to snow until 6am. Roads weren’t terrible but they’re covered and there’s been a few cars in the ditches. Was surprised to see the local McDonald’s was closed I think DG was the only store open in town besides gas stations.

Just came in from outside. Dogs were freaking out over the crunchy snow. Freezing rain is here. This is going to be a miserable next couple of days.

Depending on where you live…Unless we get in the 20’s for an extended (more than 6-8) hours, the palms should be fine. Throw a sheet over them if you feel you need to for this cold spell.

Ty. I think it won’t get cold here tonight. Think tomorrow is the start of freeze

Hopefully nothing too severe for you guys in that area and hope you don’t lose power, but it don’t take much ice for that to happen.

Thanks. Still freezing rain here, and getting colder. Will be able to walk on top of the 7 inches of snow by morning. Still projecting 1-3 more anow tomorrow.

Are you getting much wind?

Trees and branches covered in ice already. Have seen two small limbs down so far. More to come.

Wind isn't terrible, but freezing rain all night, thrn turning to snow in the morning. Lots of people going to lose power I'm afraid. So far so good here, but I expect that to change.

That's a plus. The worst case scenario is for the wind to pick up. It would bring down a whole lot more ice-covered limbs.

If tweet fails to load, click here. They're doing a good job from what I can tell on Xwitter. Crews have kept working through the mess to try to repair lines.

Having to stop for the night outside of St. Louis, roads are absolute atrocious.

More coming your way, might as well hunker down. We had a lull mid/late afternoon just dumping snow again and drifting, flat out blizzard conditions with the wind. BoCoMo checking in at 11.2” w/ WC @ -2.
