This is not to say that people don't rape, or mess with kids. They do, but they 1) do so in smaller numbers than the media seems to suggest; and 2) do so to a greater extent than they would if the media would STFU and cover larger issues.

the thing about pedophilia is it's more common than you think, but the perps are most likely to be fathers, step-fathers, uncles, step-brothers, boyfriends of mothers, older cousins, etc.

Did they both just rape the other one? Yes, technically.

Me and my wife raped each other Saturday night after the bar then because we were hammered. I actually passed out on the living room floor prior to going to bed and doing the dirty and she wasn’t much better off

We love drunk sex it’s more fun

WTF dude! How dumb are you? How terrible of a father are you?

Teach your son to not bang girls who are blacked out drunk. It's not that difficult. If you know the girl is drunk af and doesn't have a clue of where she's at, etc. Dont try and have sex with her. Instead, be a responsible human being and make sure she gets home ok, or atleast get her with her friends. Being drunk doesn't make you entitled to get your dick sucked. If you're not sure how drunk/coherent she is. Don't have sex with her yet. Get her number, and go over her apartment the next night.

A general rule of thumb is if the girl wouldn't have sex with you while sober, then don't try to have sex with her while drunk. Drunken 1 night stands are dumb for a multitude of reasons, just don't do it. Period.

don't think you can "legally" consent to rape, drunk or otherwise.

I guess you could consent to playing out a rape fantasy or something

At .318 BAC there is no discussion. All there is, is just words trying to justify rape.

I don’t think OP was arguing against that being rape. I think what he is asking is at what point of impairment does it become rape?

It’s never really been defined legally and I think it should

Consent is not that difficult. Just tell your son don't have intercourse with girls who are "White girl Wasted" or passed out.

I've seen cases where a guy has sex with a girl and the girl claims she was drunk the day after. The guy says the girl was not "wasted" or "passed out"....didn't end well for most of the guys.

I don't think in today's world it is as cut and dry as you think.

Suspects have already admitted she was wasted.

The 2 people being drunk happens everyday at every college campus across America.

People think if the guys are charged with rape it will erase the other poor, unaffiliated decisions she made that night which ultimately led to her death.

But here's my point. It seems as though the Madison Brooks Case is going to rely on consent. Obviously what those men did were despicable and I hope they sit behind bars for the rest of their life.

What if the scenario played out differently... Madison got into a cab and got home instead of getting hit by a car. Would she file rape charges?

We need more regulated and legal brothels like in Nevada. I wouldn’t risk it with some random escort.

I'm not talking about the Brooks case...I'm talking in general....the Brooks case for me is fairly cut and dry.

I'm not saying I didn't care about consent. I'm saying I don't remember there ever being much of a gray area around it. We have pages and pages of "what if" here now, around both parties being drunk, very specific BAC levels of drunkenness, etc. and I just don't get it. What happened to Brooks was clearly rape. Two somewhat drunk, probably ugly people hooking up at closing time is not.
