They’re finally fulfilling their 20 year plan. Frats go and sororities will be next.

I really have no clue how the alumni have allowed F King and Alleva to hang around this long

I wonder how strictly this will be enforced. I do understand that, given what happened, LSU had to do something.

It's an inevitable result of ever increasing restrictions.

when I was in college my fraternity was kicked off campus and anyone wearing the letters on campus was suspended or expelled

and we didn't kill anybody (we did abandon some pledges on the causeway though)

I'm not sure why anyone is surprised at this

Thing is, I was a GDI at LSU, but a lot of my friends were Greeks and I had no problems with them.

This is just the most recent salvo of a long running attack. The administration has had a Dean Wormer hard-on for the Greeks since the early 90s.

Was not aware that all 2,500 or so affiliated with a Greek organization were involved.

It's always a good idea to alienate and eliminate the portion of the alumni with the highest donation rate.

Over half of the greeks I know that went to LSU live out of state and don't give any money back to the University. They may give money to their Frat/Sorority, but not the school itself.

The university also is supporting legislation proposed by Rep. Nancy Landry that would make hazing a felony with steeper penalties, as well as a bill by Rep. Franklin Foil that would protect the identity of those who report dangerous behaviors such as hazing.

So hazing is the new sexual assault. And by hazing, I mean making pledges wear ties.
