Meh. “Greeks” didn’t kill anyone, that specific group of losers did.

I really have no clue how the alumni have allowed F King and Alleva to hang around this long

Alumni have zero say with Alexander. He’s appointed by the board of supervisors which is appointed by the governor. The majority of said board are not LSU alumni. As with most things that are completely f$&ked in this state (see Council on Aging), the governor actually pulls the strings.

Didn't that kid die two years ago?

I feel like this is a number of things that have happen over the last 3-5 years. Remember the entire drug bust in lake beau pre that was linked back to Sigma Chi. Along with the two videos that went viral (broken arm knockout champ & the massive brawl outside of Reggies/Mikes).

With that being said, it sucks that the larger group has to punished for a very few. But LSU's admin has been pushing the curve binge drinking agenda for damn near a decade now. Events like the one in this post just give them light ammunition

LSU is last in the SEC in academic donations

13 out of 14.

AND, over 70% of academic donations to LSU come from alums who were in the Greek system.

Not really. He has a point. Hazing 100% happens on LSU sports teams

I'll raise this question. How many LSU athletes have died in a hazing incident?

Also, it seems to look like LSU is following the Penn State action plan when it comes to Greek Life. As I've stated before. It sucks that the majority is being roped in because of a few people. But this should come as no surprise.

did an LSU athlete that committed suicide some years back do so due to hazing? Many greeks have been hazed over the years - what PDT did was not hazing but downright criminal.... if LSU is going to lump ALL hazing together then lump ALL who haze together.

The tricky part is defining hazing. I've seen where a mandatory meeting, at normal hours, no different than one you might have at work, is described as hazing. Normal pranks that occur with college aged students can be reinterpreted at hazing. For that matter, you could probably redefine most football practices as hazing.

This issue can be comparable to the age old question of what is pornography. Clearly there is hazing where the intent and activities involved are clear to all. My fear would be whacked out student life administrators with an agenda.

None, but there have been quite a few athletes and band members killed because of hazing around the country the last few years. Just because they haven't killed a kid doesn't mean they don't have.

I know at a lot of the HBCU bands it's really bad. Like the freshman have to make it to the back of the bus while the rest of the members have broomsticks beating the shite out of them.

I'm not saying tha that hazing doesn't happen among athletic & band members. But every state university probably looked themselves in the face after the Penn State issue and asked themselves "Whats going on with our Greek/Campus life?". It just so happens that LSU had a handful of it's own issues end up in the news.
