Killing someone as a result of hazing is one thing. Having a pledge run to Taco Bell at midnight type of “hazing” is another.

If LSU is going to implement this, they have to define hazing. Making kids wear a tie is not hazing by any sensible person, however, if going by the vague arse definition in place, it would be considered hazing.
And LSU already bans common source alcohol and hard liquor at house parties. If they’re trying to ban it at bars and third party events, they’ll quickly realize that rule will never be followed. The bars don’t give a shite what LSU bullshite policy says.

At some schools, any activity stated to be required is redefined as hazing. You can argue such a policy may be trying to get ahead of this situation, but its clearly taken to an unworkable extreme.
Will Wade kicked the basketball players out of the locker room following a few bad losses. He made them eat inferior food, and suffer humiliating consequences. A greek organization doing something similar would be charged with hazing.

The majority of rich, white kids from rich, white families that pump money into schools want to be members of a Greek organization.
Its why so many rich kids go to Ole Miss and Alabama from all over the Southeast, for the Greek scene.
You might not like those people, but they are the ones that end up inheriting their parents' money and connections, and they are the ones that donate later in life. It is just the way it is.
Destroying the Greek system at LSU will have very negative financial consequences.

They want the money generator that is the fraternity system (Greek alumni donate in a much greater proportion to the other alumni) but they don't want the current fraternity system.
So if you guys could continue churning out Greek alumni while having the least amount of fun while you're actually in college... that would be great... m'kay?

Just fricking stop and you'll be left alone, you rent a friend idiots..and yes, I was in a fraternity but never put a pledge in danger or humiliated him so he'd "respect" me.

Its college. Parties serve booze to 18-20 year olds and they get drunk. It shouldn't even be illegal.
Forcing a kid to chug everclear led to a death and a crime and they are being punished for it. That is not the same as having parties with alcohol where people voluntarily have fun.

Sorry you have no concepts of what happens to LSU and the insurances that have yo pay off these wrongful death claims, or rape claims, etc. You really expect LSU or other colleges to do nothing? Just accept it?
You're just so damn dumb thinking that nothing should be done. And for every 1 story put in the papers, there are probably 10 x's the amount of violations and lawsuits that are happening on a smaller scale. Well guess what. LSU is named in every single one of them, costing our school and state millions per year.

You are correct.
I guess the question should be "why didn't someone step up and say hey, this is going a little too far over the edge...let's scale it down a notch" Is the peer pressure within a group so great that people lose all of their common sense?
