Of course, but being drunk doesn't give someone free reign to do with you as they please. It is no more or less severe than the rape of someone who was sober. I'm not trying to day you're arguing otherwise - my point is the same as yours.

Be smart and take responsibility for your actions. An innocent man doesn't deserve to be labeled a rapist simply because of a "regret rape" any more than a blackout drunk woman deserves to be raped, but both parties can take measures to protect themselves and out themselves in better situations.

If a guy gets prosecuted for rape and he was blackout drunk and says he doesn't remember, people will say, "Well, maybe you shouldn't drink so much."

If you tell that to a woman, you'll be burned at the stake.

To be fair, it's typically the opposite when it comes to matters of birth control.

It seems like women are more often than not the ones blamed for not taking proper precautions to avoid getting knocked up.

However, we all know that contraception is not a responsibility limited to either sex.

But you're right, more often than not it seems like women are absolved of personal accountability when it comes to matters of their own well-being. Rather than being encouraged to avoid potentially harmful settings, situations, or individuals, it usually devolves into this notion that the victim couldn't have done anything to avoid such circumstances.

Ladies, be careful who and where you hang around, be careful what and how much of a drug you ingest, and never assume that your peers (either male or female) will protect you from any threat. Be aware. Be on your guard. Understand there are a lot of sick fricks out there who are concerned only with their own self-satisfaction or gain.

Still, there are some cases in which a victim did nothing wrong or made nothing but rational decisions, yet somehow still befell a serious misfortune.

What reasonable human being would send their child to a place that has a 20% chance of them being sexually assaulted? It's a completely cooked number.

The one-in-five figure is based on the Campus Sexual Assault Study, commissioned by the National Institute of Justice and conducted from 2005 to 2007. Two prominent criminologists, Northeastern University’s James Alan Fox and Mount Holyoke College’s Richard Moran, have noted its weaknesses:

The estimated 19% sexual assault rate among college women is based on a survey at two large four-year universities, which might not accurately reflect our nation’s colleges overall. In addition, the survey had a large non-response rate, with the clear possibility that those who had been victimized were more apt to have completed the questionnaire, resulting in an inflated prevalence figure.”

Fox and Moran also point out that the study used an overly broad definition of sexual assault. Respondents were counted as sexual assault victims if they had been subject to “attempted forced kissing” or engaged in intimate encounters while intoxicated.

But they're trying to get this man fired.

A causal after tigerland bang sesh could turn to sexual assault the minute she wants it to. females are given far too much power in that regard.

Sexual assault is certainly a problem, but I think there's a political power play going on.

The dad side of me really wants the younger crowd to stop and think about the topic for a second. Many of you will never face an allegation but we're all one sexual encounter and one sentence away from being in an uncomfortable situation. Do what you need to to avoid the "he sexually assaulted me" sentence at all costs. Take your teens and twenties seriously with regard these things. It's become way too fluid a topic re: definition and DA's in today's age prosecute for fear if they don't, they're vilified.

I thought white males were privileged. All these stats about minorities having an advantage in the hiring process and females screaming rape automatically circumventing due process has me thinking otherwise these days.

But at what point is "the line". Yeah, if a girl is so drunk she can't talk or passed out or something, then yes, I 100% agree with something being considered rape. I can see how that is an issue that needs to be addressed.

But what happens when the girl is actively participating? Just because she is drunk, doesn't mean she didn't make the decision to participate. We then say that she was not in a correct state of mind to give consent, but 99% of the time, the guy is in the same state of mind (i.e. wasted), yet he gets no protection for not being able to make decisions. I mean I know there are girls that probably wouldn't have hooked up with me sober, just as there are girls I would have never hooked up with sober. Those decisions were purely influenced by alcohol. No one raped anyone though.

If a girl says no, or legitimately has no idea the actions are taking place (not just got blackout and doesn't remember, but in a state that she doesn't even realize she is currently with another person), then I'm all for repercussions.

But the I made a mistake, or he coerced me when I was drunk defense is just not a fair fight. I get why it's an issue. I hope I never have a daughter sometimes because of it. But I also think this unfairly targets men who have literally an equal responsibility to women.

The safest answer, really, is to check out. Don't buy drinks for women at bars. Don't bring women home from the bar. Talk, flirt, get her number, call her another time. Need a frick buddy? Get one.

Don't put yourself in a situation where you're having sex with a girl that might be drunk, or a girl that you just met.

I've also had a chick Beg. Me to frick her after mutiple denials.

frick, I'd had them say "rape me, it turns me on."

Then try to pull the very shite she begged me for at a later date.

It's all fricked in the head

Yea this is bullshite. They are considered "getting shot down" as assault. Trying to kiss a chick or trying to grab a chick's pussy while kissing ain't assault if she simply stops you and you comply.

Bonk arse study. Good on him.
