If there is truth to her leaving in a truck full of guys. It's also possible she was kicked out or escaped from the vehicle.

We had a party in 2002. A couple got into a fight and the girl decided to kill herself by laying down on Nicholson. Luckily party guest got her off the road. But an off duty EMT saw it and called it in.
