Yes by LSU’s Alpha Phi. The members pronounce it ‘alfa fee’.

The amount of times we all ran across Burbank drunk as shite...

There really wasn't much on Burbank when I was at LSU. El Cid, Winn Dixie and Lakeside Daiquiris

We must have gone to LSU around the same time

Most of my time was mid to late 90s. Burbank was kind of an afterthought. Looked nothing like it does now.

Would putting a paved sidewalk on one or both sides with street lights all the way down be a good idea or bad? Good idea if someone walks it. Bad idea as you don’t want to encourage walking Burbank drunk

This happened damn near Gardere Lane.

I was going to point out that there’s a ton of foot traffic on Burbank, assuming this happened around the E Boyd area.

But it didn’t. Article says she was near Pelican Lakes. That’s a 55 mph speed zone and a fricking terrible place to be crossing the road on foot at any time of day. It’s also not exactly a good area.

Could have been a "let me out of this damned car/truck a-hole moment, so he/she did" she stood there cold and pissed and then boom. Happened in VA beach in late 80s.

I Google Map'd this and agree that it's a weird place for a student to be in the middle of the road. I know there are a few apartments out that direction but still an odd story. Hope the young lady survives.

Sidewalks, streetlights and crosswalks are the norms in first-world states.

This was several miles from campus and although not completely out of the zone where students can be found it was pretty close. That area is more middle class residential and close to the hood.

Maybe it’s just me being jaded but this quote was the most surprising to me. What an awful situation all around

Agreed. What sober person is out at 3am? Maybe someone with a weird work schedule like a bartender.

If so, the hell was she doing down there. Is there anything over there?

It just doesn’t make any sense why this girl would’ve been in that area. I doubt she would’ve been hanging out at Taekwood Village, off of Gardere.

It’s not too far from it but on the other side of Burbank.

A ton of students live in Pelican Lakes now and the couple neighborhoods right across Burbank from pelican lakes(magnolia lakes and university villas). Lots of house parties there.

It wouldn’t surprise me if she was trying to cross Burbank from one of those neighborhoods to another after a house party. There is also no lighting there. Very very dark at night.

There are multiple neighborhoods of starter homes in the area with young families and renters. I’m sure several hundred students live in a combination of Pelican Lakes, University Villas, Magnolia Lakes.
