There are 6 campaign priorities that were pulled from the 2017 strategic plan.

But I’m guessing you didn’t read all of that.

I'm not saying frick you alma mater, I'm saying frick you to the people mismanaging my alma mater. At the heart of my issues with this administration is the mismanagement of money followed by a 1.5 billion dollar fundraising campaign for nothing but a bunch of rhetoric. So my response to not approving of how money is spent at my university is to stop giving money to the university until I agree with how it's being spent...what is misguided about that??

It’s just saying the campaign is system wide. Not limited to BR Main campus.

right... I get that now

however... when just reading the headline and it talks about "uniting all campuses"... it had me wondering what on earth was going on

long story short... not a good headline to read during the drive into work

Everyone who lives in Baton Rouge should donate to this. LSU is the only thing keeping Baton Rouge from becoming Benghazi.

But no money for a new Library that it rains more inside than out and the basement floods.

That some real good LSU edumacatiin.

We need to be on the state dole to fund that.

If the LSU system can do this, why do they even need state funding.

I will hang up and listen.

Beef there is with The Advocate's use of the word "unite" versus, say, "supporting the entire System".

Advocate took that wording straight from the LSU release

fierceforthefuturecampaign.org

The Fierce for the Future Campaign unites LSU’s campuses statewide in the largest and most far-reaching advancement campaign ever initiated for higher education in the history of Louisiana.

Thanks. Either way, I'm not going to get all upset about some wordsmithing.

The premise was clear that this is the first time a campaign at LSU is system-wide. United under the same goals.

Campaign priorities for each college of program can be found here.

That's pretty much the point. Yes, LSU can improve its allocation of resources, but private support is all but a requirement moving forward.

The withdrawal of support doesn't do anything to change the LSU BoS. It doesn't do anything to remove FKA. All it does is doom students to continue to deal with the same campus infrastructure issues you dealt with while on campus. It's the reason why Middleton looks like one of Husseins palaces post-Iraqi Freedom

It's why most building roofs leak, why they have terrible roads on campus, it's why it takes 3 hours to evacuate campus after a football game.

Removing support means all LSU can do is tread water amidst a tide of other competing campuses building better futures.

You want LSU to do better but without your support they will only slip further down.

Fire F. King Alexander. There. United.

Where's my $1.5B?

Nothing else has worked to unseat this administration. The school becoming a dump may be one of the last options. You have to break eggs to make omelets. It's always darkest before the dawn. You have to hit rock bottom before you can build yourself up.

Pick your cliche. The point is that nothing has gotten anyone's attention about how hated F. King Alexander is, so maybe letting the school go to shite on his watch is the only way to get rid of him.

FKA has only been on campus for something like 6 years. Yet the university has been a cellar dweller in terms of alumni donations for much of its history.

What lame excuses are alums going to use to justify their stinginess once FKA is gone?
