Medical homebound services, but that'll be like cutting a piece of paper with a chainsaw in this situation. I'd imagine through governor's orders that any student who can't/won't wear a facemask will be asked to attend through an alternative learning setting.

I love how all these new policies include the phrase “deep cleaning.”

As a high school math teacher, I’ve seen the type of cleaning that the custodial staff does and it is pathetic lol. Maybe they will hire “professional cleaning services” to come clean, because if not, there will be no “deep cleaning.”

Key problem will be transportation by bus. Putting 40 to 50 kids in a confined hot box for over an hour in some cases.

Yeah you kinda can.

If is kid isn’t vaccinated, has fever, diarrhea, vomiting, Lice, has anything contagious, you can absolutely keep a kid from going to school.

So, only kids 3rd grade and up have germs that need to be covered with a mask...good to know.
Have any of you ever seen a kindergartner sneeze? The snot trail drips down their face where it stays while they look at you wondering what they should do. Sometimes they clean it up with their tongue... Not to mention the fingers in their noses then on the desk, door knob, carpet, other kids backs....
I definitely agree this is all for optics!

Kids under the 3rd grade don’t have anything to worry about.

The kids 4th-12th they won’t be able to enforce them wearing a mask.

It becomes a safety issue and an issue for teachers trying to teach.

What about when they are all jammed into the cafeteria for lunch?

This is a horrible idea and it won’t work.

What about the many areas of the state where online school isn’t a option? I know that we take hi speed internet for granted but many places around the state and country can’t say the same.

No. Have you never heard of block schedules? 4 classes per day but they're each 90+ minutes long.

Misconception. It says “to the maximum extent possible”. Our district was told the students did not have to be forced to wear masks and teachers should wear them at arrival and dismissal but not while teaching.

Not in LA, but Missouri... my youngest will be a senior and is scheduled to have enough credits to graduate at Christmas break. She already missed Prom and isn't into sports or other stuff. I told her to get her GED and start her semi-adult life. She's entered into a Dental Assisting program this fall to help decide if she wants to go to hygiene school. It's really f'd up a lot of kids world that were looking forward to Sr. year. I told her to be ready for a life of disappointments, might as well get started... LOL.

It could be months or years before a vaccine is ready. The problem is that if a vaccine isn't ready within lets just say by march 2021 then what a bout all these shutdowns and restrictions? It is not a guarantee that a vaccine will be ready soon in time for this year or early next year.

If the later happens then do we keep doing this for years on out?

I feel bad for seniors of 2020 and 2021. It sucks that this is happening during the most fun part of high school. At least they'll have a hell of a story to tell their grandkids when they're bitching about something trivial though

I would assume that if an outbreak occurred then it will be during the lunch period where sneezing, coughing and touching objects is most frequent. I don't see how you can use social distance in a cafeteria unless they stagger the lunch hours.
