Objection!

I have thoroughly being an attorney for the last hour. I have saved myself money on a divorce attorney, notarized a bunch of shite for a bunch of people and bought myself a douchey license plate for my car.

Did you ever save up enough to fix that flat on your bmx bike? How have you been getting to work since the flat?

This is going to be a domino effect. Horrible lawyers screwing people out of 1000’s of dollars. It’s really a scary world we’re currently in.

Do you honestly think the Bar Exam was preventing this from happening?

25 hours of online CLE is an entirely meaningless "at least we did something" concession

The mandated class is like 16 hours or something anyway.

This is dumb as shite.

I lived in Louisiana for 25 years, graduated from LSU and Tulane Law, worked at numerous Louisiana law firms from age 19 forward, and have been practicing, as a GA licensed attorney, for nearly 20 years, so why should a fresh graduate get an exception and not me? What if I had been planning to take the La bar and move back home? I didn't read the article, but I assume I'd be forced to take the exam.

As someone who had to take the 3 day / 8 hours per day exam and in the first year they didn’t allow conditioning......frick this shite.

I can tell you the CPA exam most certainly is not being waived. They are granting some extensions to the 18 month rule to make up for the fact that the exam wasn't offered for a while. But otherwise, you still have to pass it to get your certification.

Now, granted, you have to have work experience as well to get your CPA, under the supervision of a current CPA. Why doesn't the legal profession come up with something like that? People can still work for law firms, they just can't sign anything right now or directly represent clients. That way, the recent grads aren't completely screwed, and the public isn't completely screwed by allowing people a forever exemption to the bar exam.

It's the cable company way. Need to get those numbers up so the new subscribers get the discount/easy way in.

Samesies, but just delaying the Bar indefinitely wasn’t going to fly, either.

That’s essentially clerking, which is what exists now.

This will be an unmitigated disaster
