Apparently, Justice Weimer’s daughter is among those benefitting from the no bar exam. He also might not have disclosed this fact.
How do you remove a sitting justice in LA? That should be an immediate expulsion offense.
What the hell was he thinking?

The attorneys need a union to protect them from forced Bar admission and non-agreed licensure compliance issues.
Do attorneys in LA have to pay bar dues plus a license fee?
CPAs have to pay an annual tribute to our regulator board, but admission in LCPA (our professional society) is optional.

Just do away with the bar exam its an outdated practice. You pass law school you should be able to practice law.

The bar dues are the license fee.
We bat dues to stay licensed and then we also have to pitch in for the disciplinary board.

Any one know what percent of each of the LA law school graduates pass the Bar?

But the bar association is a non-governmental entity, right?

No its not a joke. Wisconsin has waived the bar requirements for decades if you graduate from a Wisconsin law school. We have hundreds of idiots attorneys in Louisiana who passed the bar exam who have been disbarred or disciplined so I'm not sure what it really proves other than its a right of passage.
I'm okay with the LSC's ruling.

It’s the bare minimum. For every idiot who passed the bar thing how fricking dumb the ones who didn’t pass are.
This is lowest threshold to pass not proof you’re gonna be good at your job.
Licensed doctors commit malpractice. I still Want them to take some tests before they cut me open.

Last July for first time takers here were the numbers for passing
LSU 85.6%
Loyola 74.76%
Tulane 78.57%
Southern 64.04%
Other (outside LA) 60.87%
Not to mention Loyola and Tulane offer course loads that focus on common law vs civil law. Which basically means not Louisiana law.
Last year only 56 Tulane graduates actually sat for the LA bar. I imagine All of them will apply to be licensed this year because why not?
