I feel like it is irresponsible for someone to carry without a decent amount of training.

However... My belief in the 2nd amendment firmly trumps that feeling.

Sir, I'd like you to meet the DoJ and the FBI. And you're creating an Internet track record of it.

Do not leave *any* trails anywhere. You buy a gun. You own it for two hours, and decide it would be a great birthday gift. Gift it. No problem (in most states.) But you openly admitted you bought a gun through an FFL for a different person, using a username that can probably be linked to your actual identity in minutes.

Why make your life harder, when an ex wife or pissed off cousin comes after you?

Yeah right, your proficiency ended at drawing dicks in portable toilets.

Hey, the USN was pretty good at writing "take their arse or take their gas" inside latrines. (ETA: sorry, heads.)

I am confused why jarheads think throwing 0311 around makes them fancy. I'll never learn, because I don't eat crayons.

You don;t get any real world proficiency by get a CCP. You shoot at a static target 36 rounds and you're good to go.

Also, 28 states have constitutional carry, where;s the carnage you worry about?

As a firearm instructor and RSO, I’ve seen some down right imbeciles fail the range quals for CHL…….now they too can go have some fun!

Nothing wrong with securing a CHL. But this whole thing has nothing to do with common sense. It’s more 2A theology.

I don;t doubt it. I've seen plenty of stupid and scary things at the Ranges over the manyyears I;ve been going.

I just thing if all these ignorant cry babies were right there'd be carnage all over the more than half the States in the union that have Constitutional carry

But this law makes it legal for hood rats to carry and would thus make it illegal to search a person based on the reasonable suspicion that the hood rat is illegally carrying a concealed weapon. It deprives law enforcement of a significant tool to go after these guys with.

I wouldn't. I know quite a few who are loose cannons.

I'm all for constitutional carry. Yeah there will be some idiots abusing it but that's freedom.

With CCP's we had a way to ensure the holder had basic proficiency. Constitutional carry eliminates that

1. I took rhe classes for CCP. They di not make you proficient AT ALL. Only practice and range time do that
2. How many law-abiding idiots do you think will now start carrying that weren't before?

the Senate vote was 100% party line with all republicans voting for it, I would assume we'll see the same in the house, which tends to be more conservative.

Good ole Louisiana. Last in everything.

New Hampshire and Vermont already have it and we don't.

The problem is going to be the money, I think I rember it being stated that LA State Police take in $4 million/year on concealed carry permits, add to that the push to get rid of vehicle inspection stickers (brake tags for the New Orleans folk) which would take another chunk out of state police budget. I am for constitutional carry and the elimination of inspection stickers, but do not feel that either will pass strictly because of the lost dollars….politicians don’t vote to decrease funding

Good

Law enforcement has too many sweeping nets and lazy "proactive" policing tools. This is what makes them antagonistic to the average citizen.

LSP testified in committee that they were not worried about the loss of revenue based on studies done where other states have passed similar laws.

Wait, are you arguing for or against training requirements? It sounds like you are in favor of more training.

I'm saying if there were a training requirement, which I don't believe there should be, that law enforcement experience should not qualify someone for exemption.

I'm mainly taking a pot shot at the LE officers in here downvoting those who support doing away with their bullshite classes they teach as side work.
