I’m still monitoring every stitch of data. It’s weird. It’s almost boring that this is such a sure bet. All models are on board, the pattern favors a significant winter storm, and we are inside the window of the short range, high resolution models locking in on this. I’ll post a parish by parish update tonight. My main concern is precipitation type. Not rain or wintry, but which kind of wintry in each area. The areas that see the most sleet and snow will be the areas to be in since that will limit power outages and tree damage. I have some conflicting thoughts on how this plays out, but will look at evening guidance, and post that parish by parish update by 10:00. This is mainly to say that I’m here, I’m watching things, and it’s going to be an impressive system. Could be thunderstorms while we are in the 20s. Which is flat out stupid.

Never thought I would see the day when we are litigating the classification of frozen precipitation.

The real question is if the power goes out, does tOT have any sort of morse code or radio frequency where we can communicate? I can't miss any lunch thrays or Destroya updates.

I need to drive to Mandeville tomorrow. Interstates should be ok? 55 and 12.

We're going to need to start a GoFundMe for the microscopic snowflake camera.

It came from a Smithsonian Magazine article about the highest definition snowflake photos ever taken.

Anyone know the last time BR had a temp in the teens? I have a friend who lives in Massachusetts and I'm trying to convince her that 18 degrees IS a big deal down here.

He'd need a seaworthy vessel or would have to drive 500 miles to get to someplace that won't get it.

I remember it being 9 degrees when I was a kid in the 80s. About half of the houses on our street had busted pipes.
It's been quite a while since it's gotten this cold though.
